Please - if you think BTDT is anywhere near the worse soccer parent, you don't know squat. At least he is honest and upfront with what he thinks and I bet he will not leave his team high and dry without notice if they decide to move. Its the snakes you have to watch out for not those who are out front and telling it like they see it, even if you see it differently.

At leas the sort of knows what he is talking about, 99% of the sideline experts are completely clueless and much more dangerous to your kids fun, your sideline experience and most of all the chemistry of the team.

You obviously read his posts and your solution could be to not do that.

I don't know the guy. On here, he hasn't said anything that I know of negative about any kid, or any team for that matter. He questions what is going on with ECNL because he is comparing it to what he knows, but that's about it. Nothing negative.

Because he posts a fair amount he runs afoul of other peoples set opinions and people go after recognizable targets. BTDT seems honest. Problem is that there are peoples livelyhoods affected by player movement, and in effect are paid to post. Post a lot when people know who you are and some will find it annoying.

'Please' yourself...first, I agree with previous poster(s) that BTDT posts and then frequently supports his own posts with unregistered posts. The reason I think that is because of how often he gets patted on the back, even for misinformed posts. He is obviously consumed by the U13 age group, this website etc... so I actually believe the above post was likely from BTDT. The guy is spending 10-15 hours a week on this site. The alter ego posts are shorter and similarly written, its not that hard to see.

Second, whether you know it or not he is out there recruiting players IN SEASON to take the spots of players on his daughters team, players who have been working hard for their coach and club and teammates.. and dont pretty well actually. Why is he doing that? For what he thinks is his daughters sake..but if he were successful then it would be to the detriment of other players on the TEAM.

If you were to ask parents of players on his U13 daughters former team what their opinion is then you would get some interesting answers.

But will the destination clubs want to deal with him? Maybe JD and FM don't read this forum? Maybe they do and find him refreshing?

Have you ever met him? My daughter is on that team. He's a stand up guy. Outgoing and generous with his time. Does a lot for kids. Not nearly the distraction some of you want to paint him as. I bet he' s in CH's ear the least of anyone on the team. His big thing clearly is the travel but he says most of what he has to say here, not on the side lines. He certainly isn't what I would consider to be a team killer by any stretch of the imagination.

It's the beginning of the end for NEFC's perfect season. And it's all being documented on TS. I love it!

Any team that doesn't have that level of talent through out will be just a bottom dweller at the national level. Right now there are 4-5 national level prospects in the class of 2016 from this general area. Unless they all end up on one team (unlikely) none of the local teams are going to make much of a splash at that level.
Ummm, yes they did. The post was in response to a comment regarding the current U12 age group. Not only did NEFC win the Andre Cup last year, but they had all 4 teams in the semifinals (3 current U12 teams and one current U11 team). The original poster was commenting how Stars have the top U12 team, but NEFC quite clearly has the most talented pool of U12 players. Whether or not that plays out as years go by is anyone's guess, but they most certainly did win the Andre Cup last year.

BTDT is definitely no where near the worst soccer parent. I'm sure he's recruiting for daughter's team, as are many other parents on many other teams in ALL age groups. But let's not be naive. If he decides to jump ship - of course he'll do it without any notice.

All that aside, it is pretty funny to watch him holding court on the sidelines of his daughter's games.

I would not count on it. His older daughter up and left her Bolts team for MPS in the middle of a crucial recruiting season leaving them to struggle with no keeper. High and dry. He could leave at any time with no notice at all and he would be entitled to do so.

Didn't his older daughter switch clubs several times over a 2-3 year period? Does anyone doubt that he'd take what he felt was the best course for his daughter? Why shouldn't he?

I have a picture of BTDT sitting in a chair on the sidelines with other parents sitting around him on the ground at this feet listening to wisdom from the youth soccer guru.
