See below. OK to better to best, which is exactly the point I was trying to illustrate. I rest my case.

Your examples of "better" and "best" schools are certainly debatable, and this has nothing to do with the player or his choices.

This post contains even more distortion that your other one.

No one has said a word about players "settling" for D3. No one has said a word about kids shooting for the top schools in the country. Posters have been taken to task when they feel a need to explain a D3 commitment by saying the kid COULD have played D1. Most of us do not think most kids "settle" for D3. We think kids end up at D3 because basically that is the level where they belong.

One last thing on the PG thing. What would you say if everyone did a PG year? Or if they just made high school 5 years? Don't you get that you only gain an advantage by virtue of so few electing (or being able) to go that route? I get the argument that if an avenue is available folks are entitled to maximize any and all opportunities, but I'm just sayin' (as they say).

What if everyone were the same and had exactly the same opportunities? It would be an incredibly dull world. For a close approximation, move to China.

I guess that's one way of looking at it.....especially if you're one of the few who is willing to utilize such an opportunity either out of reach for some or viewed as entirely superfluous and unnecessary by others. But let's just take the people who could do it.....if they did it there no longer would be any advantage. And certainly your view expressed above is not something that would be taught at a school like.......Williams.

You're right. The world is a much better place when the elite willing to capitalize on any possible in-road or loophole in the system are the ones who get the extra, special needs opportunities.

Boy these PG years sure do get everyone's boxers in a bunch! Funny thing is almost all the PG's I know are on full scholarship. I have known a number that were graduates of public schools in rough areas of Boston and New York. Two just got expelled from my kids school. Now they are back on the streets. Great athletes, but not sure about their future. There is nothing cookie cutter elitist about the PG year.

And these kids were soccer players, right? At Phillips no doubt?

I don't think anyone has their "boxers in a bunch" about kids who really do need a PG year in order to academically qualify at ANY school.

There doesn't seem to be anyone by that name on the Bolts DAP roster.
