DAP as a national program is actually hurting the MA DAP kids more than the non-DAP kids. never thought of it that way, but it makes a lot of sense. since the academy is so structured, a d1 coach in new england has many more opportunities to see out of region players with the academy showcases and the scheduling of the spring matches. therefore they don't have to rely on local talent as much. out of the 9 d1 ma players so far, only 3 are playing for d1 mass teams (BC and HC) that doesn't bode well for future recruits.
