I don't know what type of person you are who is writing stuff like this, but like or dislike KM as a soccer coach is a far cry from liking going to ARHS. Kids love it there! It's a wonderful school with great opportunities.Playing soccer or any sport for your HS is a wonderful experience no matter where you are. ARHS has been very lucky to get very talented kids year after year in their soccer program. Luck of the draw. ..A solid youth program in both towns certaily helps. But to keep bashing the gonk is immature and a pure sign of jealousy..you must be from St. Johns spending 11K a year and have no soccer program any more!!
Stop waisting your money, go back to public HS. The Kids have every right to enjoy that they won central Mass. My guess is your team got pumilled by one of the good teams. Stop being so sour and be happy for any 16 or 17 year old kid.

Ok - I assume you're an Algonquin parent (or student?). No offense, but your spelling is atrocious. Algonquin's a good high school, but like any other high school that's grown too big (approx. 1600 kids) it's overpopulated & under resourced. Classes too big and teachers stressed out. Cliques, bullies and good kids.

As to the sports, again, too many kids. The reality is as follows: 25 to 30 on JV/Freshman teams and not very qualified coaching, meaning very little playing time and little development. Not the fairytale you seem to be suggesting. Varsity teams have great players because of the town programs (kudos to parent volunteers!) and the wealth of the towns which means plenty of kids involved in club sports.

There is no need for the nasty immature jab at St. John's. If parents want to pay so that their son isn't in class with 35 other students, that's perfectly ok. They're still paying for the students in their own public schools with their taxes, so I feel they're owed a debt of gratitude, to be quite honest. Right now, the St. John's team is rebuilding. The JV team looks pretty good. Algonquin, contrary to what you might think, may have some issues in the future. One club kid on JV, apparently, and no real striker for next year, although I'm sure this will get resolved. Oh, and no State Championship in the last 5 years or so, even though the school seems to think it's got the best boys' team around.

Time for a little humility. Well done Ludlow, and all the other teams in the finals.

As a student at Algonquin I can actually speak to the fact that my biggest class is infact 22 kids and not 35 so I'm not quite sure where you're getting your information from so you might want to recheck it. Also the faculty is not over-worked or stressed out, in our seven period days they all only teach five classes allowing of two periods of prep for everything they need to do. Every school has cliques and bullies Algonquins is not that bad in that department and with only 1,300 students there is no over-population issue. I say again check what your saying before you present them as facts.

I don't think any group of boys or girls should have to be humble about winning their respective area title..ie..central mass or what have you. I don't care what school wins a teenager has every right to feel proud. What the coach says has nothing to do with the kids.Everybody has an opinion. Kids have a right to feel proud. sorry you lost!!

Just making a point. Glad to hear your classes are "small." There are much larger classes though. However, I can personally attest to the fact that there are plenty of stressed out teachers there, just as there are at any school.
