Also your supposed stats are entirely wrong. Yes many don't show up for court dates, some completely by error. The highest rate of no shows is single men. Families, however, have a very high rate of appearing as ordered. From gov't data:
"An accurate review of EOIR data shows that at least 60 percent of families—and maybe more—are in full compliance or have already fully complied with their obligations to appear in immigration court. The appearance rates would be even higher if immigration authorities provided quality information to mothers...EOIR data shows that families with legal representation have exceptionally high rates of appearance. For cases that were initiated in fiscal year 2014, 98 percent of families with representation are in compliance with their appearance obligations." https://www.humanrightsfirst.org/blo...court-hearings
Releasing them with monitoring and legal advice is also a huge cost savings. Estimates vary but the cost of detention is about $175-$250 per person per day. Doing high monitor programs that have proven success, many of which are community based through faith based and other volunteer organizations, cost as little as $100/week.
