#1 we arent going to war, even though Iran has been at war with us for 40 years

I would have advised trump not to draw a bright red line. They rarely work. Now he has painted us into a corner. The same way Obama did. Obama stood down and that was the acceleration of the fall of the superpower. However, he didnt create a bigger mess. Trump has no choice now. He has to strike back. Every wannabe dictator and rogue nation state is watching. If he does nothing, we are going to be tested a lot in 2020. If he strikes back hard and takes out Iran’s main source of revenue, petroleum and related products, the crippled economy will fall. China will be pissed, because about 40 percent of exports go to China, most of that oil and gas and petroleum derivatives. Israel will most likely be lobbying to take out the enrichment facilities. That would also be a good target. Ensure they don’t get nuke capabilities on a large scale. Their navy is not impressive. Three Russian subs are the only real threat. Air Force is tiny vs the US and would not be a threat to the US due to the range and would be overwhelmed. Yes they have a lot of soldiers in the army, but That in itself would not be an asset vs the US. They would never get near the US and just like the iraq army, their fighting meddle would be tested and they would fail under constant bombing.
