Trump is an idiot and will be known as the worst president to serve up to this point but his supporters are entitled to their beliefs without being harangued by even bigger idiots than what Trump is. Intolerance of differences is a huge problem facing this country. The president doesn't do much to help the problem but folks don't need to be like him.

"Entitlements" include:

Social Security
Medicare and Medicaid
Veteran and civil servant retirement
SNAP
Housing Assistance
Unemployment Insurance (has time limits and you pay into it)
SSI
Pell Grants
School lunch programs for low income kids
Head start
Job Training Programs
WIC
Child care subsidies (to help low income parents be able to work)
Energy subsidies for low income households
It also includes farm subsidies ($20B a year and Trump wants to give them $12B more) and VA programs.

So what do you cut? Yes absolutely there should be a clean up, tightening of qualifications etc. But there are many programs that are vital to millions of people in the US - not just the poor but most of the benefits go to the elderly, disabled and children.

As has always been the case with immigration throughout our history, immigrants tend to go where they have existing friends/family/community. Having the support and familiarity of a few people from your home country can make the transition go smoother. The other factor is plentiful jobs for low skilled workers. Southern states and the midwest have larger immigrant communities now than 20 years ago because of agricultural jobs, meatpacking plants etc. While VT and NH currently have low unemployment, just the sheer size of the state means there just aren't as many opportunities. Then there's the weather, the necessity to have a car...
