Energy subsidies for low income households
It also includes farm subsidies ($20B a year and Trump wants to give them $12B more) and VA programs.

So what do you cut? Yes absolutely there should be a clean up, tightening of qualifications etc. But there are many programs that are vital to millions of people in the US - not just the poor but most of the benefits go to the elderly, disabled and children.
Not the OP, but tough decisions need to be made. You can’t spend on everything and in the next sentence complain about the debt. It is impossible to be everything to everyone. I do think you are spot on with the assessment that the requirements need to be tightened. You can’t have people working 70-80 hour weeks to support people that don’t work at all bc it is more beneficial not to.

How about not giving the wealthy and corporations a huge and unnecessary tax break? And Trump wants to give them MORE. Or not give farmers $12B to keep them from complaining about tariffs. Cut the military budget a hair. Forget the stupid wall. For a party that hammered Obama non stop about the deficit you sure aren't acting like the fiscally responsible party.

I could give a rats petuty about the wall. Where I think we probably differ is the definition of wealthy. Top 2% sounds wealthy, but if you treat someone making 300K the same as someone making 2 mill, all you’ll do is drag the 300K family down to middle class and kill motivation. Socialism doesn’t work. They need to split up the income brackets based on $$$, not percentages. Go up a percentage or 2 for each 100K.

You are thinking of this the wrong way. The focus should be on drivers of growth. Small businesses, corporations, international trade and consumer confidence are the engines that drive the economy. Trump is laser focused on each of these. First by eliminating burdensome regulations, then the tax breaks, now striving for free and fair trade. The jury is still out but so far all indicators are that its working and growth is coming back. Once growth establishes itself an increase in government revenue will drive deficits down. In parallel the cost size of the equation can be addressed, unnecessary government waste and reducing the size of government.

2nd quarter growth was a one time blip. Trade tariffs will drag drag doen the economy. Thus far the modest growth in wages have been wiped out with rising prices. Prices on certain goods will go up because of tariffs. Gas up $.50/gallon in a year. Most corporate savings have gone to stock buybacks and building cash reserves. Tax breaks to individuals do not trickle down in a meaningful way, even more so of the economy is strong. It's been demonstrated many times but the GOP loves it.

Typical tRUMP... run up the deficit and call it an investment.
Input tariffs and call them a negotiating tool in making a 'deal'
Give farmers $12B handout (isn't that a socialist policy?)
Appoint yes men to positions of power and let them steal from the piggy bank...
                etc....
No new ideas simply an arrogant ego, assisted by a complicit Congress.... with a bunch of dopes (Republickasses) supporting his every error and calling it revolutionary...
Welcome to the Art of the Con, suckers...

Look at my thumb. Gee, you’re dumb. You’d think law of averages would kick in at some point and you’d be right about something. But your hate for the man runs so deep that you refuse to acknowledge what he has done right. Tariffs are and will work. The WU backed down quickly. The others will as well. They know they were taking advantage of milquetoast Obama. Growth will go even higher and your so focused on tax cuts for businesses that your missing where individuals and small business LLC’s get them as well. Stay off the tracks bc the train is coming through. People like you shouldn’t even get the benefits you’re about to. Give them back, loser.

Don't hate the man... just recognizing and calling out a buffoon when i see one.... if he is so great then why not take your 401K and reinvest it in tRUMP enterprises?
I like your train analogy (except the tRUMP train is fueled by coal....)
Tariffs have never worked... they are just plain dumb, Casper.

maybe trump will release some of the strategic reserve like obama right before midterms. With lower demand after the summer driving season and higher supply after the release, that should be good for a nice reduction in price and help GOO before elections. Would be a highly partisan move....kinda like this guy who did it multiple times. Sometimes he did it to address budget gaps. Us gov sold fuel at higher prices than it bought it when it originally went into the reserves down in the salt mines. Thus recognizing a gain to offset an increase in highway fund spending.

My 401k is all invested in equities. I believe in trump and the USA. In order to gain leverage in a negotiation, sometimes you need to be willing to show the other party that you are committed to your beliefs. No better time to do it then when you are at your strongest. Watch what is happening in Turkey. They will get crushed into a deal. As will the chinamen. Thier markets are getting crushed at a time when thier growth is slowing and they have domestic unrest. Russia....same thing. New sanctions will hurt them bad. Get them back in line. Iran....good luck, how did it work out for them when they couldn’t sell oil last time. Venezuela? How is that 15,000% inflation going down there.

Us Under obama was forced to wear baggie sweats and hoodies. Now under trump we strip down to the bikini and show off the body. Haters going to hate, but we will get better deals. Free the tatas! Maga! #winning

You’d rather let other countries walk all over us. Open borders. Lose jobs. Crime rises. Terrible trade deals. Higher taxes. Got it. Now THAT is treasonous.

When the drunk driving illegal with no insurance runs his kid over with his Pinto, ask him again. When we start having Muslim extremist terrorist like France, ask him again. When the us. When his grandchildren are working at McDonald’s because we lost our technological advantage and our global businesses left the us, taking jobs with them because they were taxed too high and labor was cheaper overseas, ask him again.

Socialism and communism don’t work long term.

Much of the US can be defined as "socialist". The right freaks out at the term without really understanding what it means. They also frequently exchange it with communism or totalitarianism, which are not the same either. In your cry to "get the government out of our lives" your forget about all the ways the government keeps us functioning

US "Socialist" ideas: Social security, Medicare/Medicaid, infrastructure (highways, dams, bridges), free public education, state universities, garbage collection, public utilities, water/sewage, VA/healthcare, scientific research/CDC (you want MORE big pharma if there's a pandemic?), GI Bill, government agencies (want to get rid of the FDA or USDA? Great if you want to make your own medicine and grow all your own food), public parks (local, state, national), FEMA, college scholarship programs, US Census, farm subsidies, unemployment insurance, all levels of law enforcement, fire departments/first responders.

Oh, and the IRS and state tax collectors to help pay for it all.

Too funny... you don't address the issue (i.e. that tRUMP is a buffoon). Then you write essentially a pile of bullsh.it ... then you accuse me of treason for apparently using my right of free speech...
Crime is not rising, there are no terrible trade deals nor higher taxes .
