If you shut down, it causes other healthcare problems, poverty, suicides etc. You act as if this number could have been 0 and put 200,000 lives on trump. id like to think that i speak for most when i say i don't want anybody to get sick or die because of covid. I am all for helping others but my priority is my wife and kids.

Shutting down again, puts my wife and kids in danger. Financially, socially, health wise, etc... We cannot shut down again. Those elderly and vulnerable will simply need to be smart about their daily routine.

The virus is here and it simply isn't going anywhere at the moment. We need to be smart. But i don't want my babies growing up in a box/bubble. They are missing out big time right now. Fortunately, i have been lucky and haven't been laid off, many people cant say that.

We need to move forward, be smart, get back to some kind of normal. There are way more people that feel that way vs. We need to shut down again. For those that are scared, that's fine, just stay home and be quiet while the rest of us continue living.

We don't have to shut down if people do the right things - mask up, limit socializing/distance etc. Don't send your kids to school sick. Don't go to work if you're sick. Don't let your kids have big parties like those idiot parents in MA. Don't have big parties yourself.

Life won't be "normal" for awhile, but we can have it kind of normal. If numbers stay low then some restrictions will be eased, but they never will be if cases go up. Just be smart. I don't think that's too much to ask.

I dont really know where you are coming from. As i see it, everyday things are getting back to normal. My kids are back in school albeit not everyday but more than in the spring. I went to eat at a restaurant each of the past few weeks. Stay cautious and alert! Let the scientists watch the data and learn from their past mistakes and make adjustments.

Limit social interactions as much as possible especially with people you don't know. That is all anyone is really asking.

My opinion is that the plan you mention above, has back fired. As an independent I don’t identify with the current Democratic Party.

The CV response was always doomed because of the Democrats view of the role of government.
Republicans view government as a necessary evil. The less the better.
Democrats view government as GOD. Government takes care of the people completely.
Democrats were never going to allow something like this to take place and not insert themselves to micromanage all aspects of life.

restaurant owners in ny are marching on cuommo and diblasio offices- why arent they open why havent they been open
you can see the numbers as well as anyone else- -this is a power play and the govt certainly took the power- the fact they killed their cities is just starting to dawn on them

The government has a basic responsibility to society. The social contract, ie the constitution, of any government is to protect all members of the society from both internal and external forces that are detrimental to the society. If these conditions are not met anarchy will ensue. If one person is doing something unsafe that can effect multiple members of society negatively it is the DUTY of the government to restrict the actions of that individual. If you dont want to wear a mask do not venture into society.

BTW - why will no one release a study of the effectiveness of mask. I have seen hundreds of studies on CV 19 but not one on mask and effectiveness. That makes me wonder. This is not April, by now we should have real studies.
