Schools are at their limits...lack of a budget lack of staff and lack of students. They have zero help. Teachers do not under any circumstances want to extend their year by a week or to. They won't have it and it won't be as easy as some think to simply extend the year by a week or 2

A week or 2 wouldn't be good enough the way the numbers look. Best would be to shut down till near end of winter but that would never happen and it seems like remote learning is also not an option so stop the batching. Kids return to in person learning this week. If youre a teacher and don't want to be in school then find another job and for parents who r too scared to send their kids to school stfu and find a different way to educate us kids

You are fighting the wrong battle, you should be asking yourself, why does my chosen media want me to doubt the case or death counts at this point in the pandemic? What is their agenda? If it’s to try and minimize the importance of public safety amid a pandemic, then I would worry. Every presidential election in the last 20 years has been decided by only a couple percent, if your chosen media causes you a disproportionate number of deaths in the next 2 years then you will cease to have a national voice and will lose every toss up state. In short, you will lose.
But okay, you are entitled to your opinion. I don’t care about agendas. All I care about is truth and honesty to the American people. The inconsistencies within states, and from state to state regarding COVID data and statistics are a well known fact. It is not only murky, it’s mess. I give the Government a D , at best, in handling the pandemic. The mistruths ,, lies , fabrications from the so called experts have been flowing out since day one, and continue. And they continue to get away with it.
If the Government is going to curtail Civil Liberties ,close schools , put people out of business, and severely impact the quality of life for the citizens, it owes them truth and honesty . The citizens are entitled to that. Just take the Capitol City. Hartford. Less than 300 people have died of “ COVID related” causes since the pandemic started. Instead of telling us day after day, about case counts, and percentage of positive tests, tell us the truth about the 300 that died. Their ages.Their preexisting conditions. Their ethnicity race, sex, and vaccination status. Some of that info is available, in a general sort of way, but it is not put out there like it should. And it should be for every town. IT should be front and center, an without the “COVID related “ label. Then let the individual citizen decide regarding their behavior. This is not the Black Death.
When one needs to go to the ER, they may ask you, what brings you here today? If you say, I am sick, and I have symptoms of COVID, and they test positive , count them as a COVID statistic. If the answer to why you are at the ER today is anything other than not having symptoms of COVID, and they test positive they should not be a statistic. The decisions being made may based on the wrong criteria, inconsistent data , and many times by bureaucrats , unions , scientists , and others removed from the front line of the disease.

It isn’t the pre existing condition, although some patients may have long term COVID, which WHO has finally come to grips with and settled on the parameters. But those are a small minority.COVID is a diseases introduced that can make it worse for the person with a pre exiting condition. The label of “ related” appears to be unique to COVID.That’s the point.

The vaccines are surely saving lives but this Omni variant is worse than the flu it spreads to everyone. Hopefully this is the end but I doubt it. Winter will be interesting once more and more people starting testing again.

And yes the vaccines are preventing deaths and serious illnesses, which is fantastic. Problem is with tens of millions still unvaccinated those people are straining the Healthcare system. Some states have terrible vaccination rates.

Any comorbidity, disease, condition, or acute ailment they may have doesn’t nullify that they are a case regardless of what state they live in. I think FL may have in 2020 tried to play games with their numbers, but unless the provider doesn’t want to get paid for their diagnosis and risk loosing their malpractice coverage or licensure they have to provide full and complete reporting. Remember when people die, questions are asked about their circumstances and health issues. Keeping two sets of books is a recipe for disaster unless your a mobster. There are too many people involved for something to go unnoticed.

I don't know what a Borg is, but Spock would have already read that article or one like it.

You lose all credibility when you put scare quotes around the word scientist. Why would you do that? Do you disbelieve that he's been in the field for decades? Do you doubt his credentials? Do you think he's somehow not a scientist or doctor?
Also, no, he has not been working on a vaccine for AIDS. That is the work of scientists who work to create vaccines. Most of science is highly specialized, which is how we were able to have an incredibly effective COVID vaccine that an unbelievable high number of Americans won't take because they trust YouTube idiots over actual scientists and doctors.

Fauci's main focus for a significant time was the creation of a vaccine for HIV/AIDS (see link below). You may have valid points about the previous posters comments, but if you would like to maintain your own credibility you should stick to what you know.

Some viruses start off with a bang - more severe but less transmissible - then move to less severe but more transmissible. That's what Omicron seems to be following. However, viruses will be viruses and keep on mutating. Another new strain could become more lethal (the 1918-19 pandemic did that round 2). CV isn't going away, it's a question of what's its next shape shifter form and how do we manage things moving forward. I didn't mind getting boosted but don't want to be doing it every few months either. The more you ask of people the less likely they are to participate. If they can get it to where it's like the flu shot, annually, that would go a long way to keeping it at bay and manageable
