I wouldn't say that they actually had a real choice.

ECNL was requiring (at that time) carrying two teams per age group ECNL and NPL from ages U12 to U18. As a single location club they just didn't have the bandwidth to pull that off. Also, the ECNL wasn't as much of a powerhouse at that time.

Many ECNL clubs are single location clubs. Where there's a will there's a way. OW chose not to go for it.

I agree with above that by the time GDA came along they kind of had to join because they couldn't get ECNL even if they wanted it. They needed something to compete on. And initially GDA seemed like it would take off, until it started falling back to earth within the first year. As long as GAL stays afloat so will OW. Thriving? Maybe not so much, but doing ok.

They bet on the wrong horse - GDA/GAL. They should have bought the S+ ECNL badge when they had a chance. They would have done a better job than FSA has.

correct. and there's a spot for every club. ECNL, GAL, EDP, travel, rec, whatever. Just usual TS people like to shoot down every club for not being the best club out there. Nobody obviously comes to TS for real information, even though these tools think they are influencing someone.

Had B teams (many of which were better than their A teams .... many players wanted to play HS). Next year, they are collapsing 3 years per B team .... that wont fly long, so the club just got a lot smaller. They have been flushed and are nearly down the drain completely.

The 15s that got beat by Ginga 2007s? Impressive. I guess Ginga should be in GAL too (playing a year up).

Oakwood's 15's beat Ginga 2007's 3-1 first night of OPI tourney--- then lost to Ginga in final of the OPI in PK's after controlling play and Ginga pretty much parking the bus....but still should have beat them in regular play if 15's coach actually knew what he was doing....
