If only clubs weren't scared to play each other and they played CFC and FSA. All clubs to blame!

Absolutely. All the "big" CT clubs are to blame. They all have a hand in not playing each other.

With good reason - losing to a local team isn't good for business. But I can't really blame the clubs. There's enough leagues out there that it's easy to hide. Politics can also hinder things: eg no way the current clubs/ECNL let OW or NEFC have a badge

And there lies the problem here...business. Only here does that get in the way of what it's supposed to be about...competition. You think AC Milan youth don't play Inter and vice versa cuz of business? Arsenal, Spurs? River, Boca? America, Chivas? Even NYCFC, RedBull? You win or you lose, simple as. Not like the club will fold if FSA lose a U13B game to CFC or CFC United U15 girls lose to FSA.
Politics another problem, ECNL should've just taken the old academy clubs and made their league even stronger. Everywhere else in the world, the national federation dictates their guidelines and it trickles down to the youth. Too many chefs in the kitchen here, it's just chaos

Correct. Oakwood, CFC, FSA, Sporting, Ginga, blah blah blah, will still fill the same amount of teams. No money will be lost. Egos may get crushed but development would increase without the pressure of trying to win games instead of develop.

Winning is part of sports development whether you want to believe it or not. And after about 12 years old winning matters. Soccer is the only sport that believes paying coaches and specialized "training" is what will create winning teams at the highest level. It doesnt work that way in any other sport. Winning and having that edge and will to win is part of development.

Look at the OPI results from this year to see what happens when OW plays local teams. Not impressive!

I agree. Just not to the extent that it’s the only thing and what drives the club and what drives their route for development to win.
