It was always intended to be a 10-month season. In almost every other state in the US, players can opt to play HS as well. Here in CT, this is not possible. Therefore, at OW, this is not possible, unless they waivered a player as they did for the boys and girls Academy programs (which pissed a lot of people off), despite USSF recommendations against doing this. Hence, said waivered player would then have to skip games and practices at OW until their HS season formally ended. This policy has always lead to lots of game rescheduling for OW or playing with kids a year or two down in age (without top players allowed waivers). The bottom line is, you were mistaken when you said GA was never intended to be a 10-month season. It has always been a 10-month season.

PS - Because it has always been a 10-month season, many of OWs better players have elected to play on their NPL/EDP teams which further reduces the statue of their academy teams and puts most of their Academy teams at the same level (some slightly below) their B teams.

RD told you it was a 10 month season to get your commitment check where in reality with no other club in the northeast GA committed to the 10 month season platform so OW Is left with no one to play in the fall.

You really cannot to both. Forget just CT rules or other restrictions in some states but it's physically way too much. That's partly why BDA banned in it the first place many years ago. It'd also why no one else in the conference did it this past fall. Enough kids want to play HS that trams are just too depleted. Why GAL thought it would work 10 months is beyond me

Agree on both counts. You forgot that GA allows HS soccer and is a 10-month season though. Since CT does not allow players to participate in HS and private youth clubs in the same sport in the same season, it can not work in CT. Again, GA is, and always was, intended to be a 10-month season. You can't be everything to everybody. Pick one or the other. If they opt to allow HS they should develop something for kids who don't want to play HS. That can be their point of differentiation.

its a point of differentiation that no one wants and makes things confusing and hard to plan out. For kids who dont want HS, just offer extra training as an upsell and set the base fee to the 7 month prorated level. This should be simple but club greed results in these silly gimmicks to keep the fee as high as possible.

lol true dat. Before DA a few clubs tried doing something in the fall for kids that didn't want HS and it never went anywhere. There's not enough at any one club and god forbid clubs worked together to do something. There's no real scale for many games, maybe a few.

Any club can take some extra cash for training over those months. The pount is that GA should match seasons with ecnl so that the overwhelming majority of the players are able to play hs without any drama and without the club having to jump through hoops.

If the GAL was so great and better than the ECNL then why does Oakwood apply every year for the ECNL and every year they beg to get in but never do. Hahaha

It's inching closer and closer to that each time a GAL club leaves for ECNL. Maybe the league keeps going as the B level platform it has become, but it won't threaten ECNL again any time soon.
