It will be interesting to see all the "high school soccer is so important to girls" people change their tunes when their kids have a better option.

Any girl at Oakwood under U16 should run now if they have any aspersions of playing beyond HS. The GAL is a joke and soon all Oakwood girls teams will be in the EDP. Oakwood refused to change and it has caught up to them.

What you're saying makes no sense. Fall program is for under HS aged kids. Nothing changes from that. ECNL always runs fall and spring. The only thing this announcement does is give the CFC academy a chance to play games against the other clubs' top players.

Besides the fact that you're wrong, some clubs in the past tried to run an optional fall program for players who didn't want to play HS. It never goes anywhere because not there's enough players to do much of anything other than train. If ECNL decided to do a 10 month thing it would be voluntary and again go nowhere beyond training and maybe some scrimmages with multi-age teams. Clubs also would need to charge more to pay for staff working more hours.

lol they've had "a better option" since GDA stared and few wanted it. Many worked around the loopholes in the DA rules to be able to play HS (either prep/private or would just "join" after HS was done).

Just wait-you'll see. Now that ECNL is doing something "special" they will want to be a part of it.

Is'nt CFC united ECNL the best of the best already? and doesn't cfc united ECNL play other ECNL teams, who would be the best of the best at their own club? so why do you need the super cup to have the best play other clubs best? makes no sense

ECNL in general is much stronger than GAL (lmao). ECNL teams do not have 22 superstars on it, so creating a team of the clubs best players and playing other clubs best players is a great opportunity (if done right and not allowing all of the BS that normally happens with CFC academy teams).

won't change a thing for CFC since CT does not allow HS and premier at same time

Sounds like it’s offered throughout the year- not just fall

Maybe for the younger ages, but there is no CFC academy for the older ages during HS season.

So- you can still play winter summer and spring? Not getting your point.
