Yes, 50-100%! High achieving student choose poor academic schools and get $40k in merit money out of $65k and then the coach chips in $5k per year .... $45k/65k = ~70%. Maybe they arent so smart.

I’m sure I will get blasted for this but had to post. As an Oakwood parent on the girls side I took my daughter down to watch some ECNL teams play at the CFC tournament. She was shocked at the level of soccer that was being played light years ahead of what her team is doing. She did not say much the whole ride home and I thought to myself what an injustice I have done to her soccer career. She is on a team that lets kids play up that have zero business playing at there own level yet Dad has money so they play or mom complains so they play. As we were pulling into the driveway she asked me if she could at least go tryout for a ECNL team next year. I am truly sorry for what I have let happen to her and will 100% at least let her tryout next year for an ECNl team. This winter she will get a ton of 1 on 1 training and I can only hope she can make a team and grow with that team. Go ahead and say or make fun of me but the day is coming when you will all wake up and see what is going on. I’m am 110% sure all clubs have issues but the product on the field speaks for itself. Sorry I just assumed so since the 07s didn’t play until afternoon. I agree with you. It’s so unfortunate. I truly believe the coaches are trying but we just don’t have the players. I also agree every club has issues and there are players leaving all the CT clubs at all times even some to come to Oakwood believe it or not. But I don’t agree the style of soccer is the same.

Has CT ever had a female player at Stanford or Virginia? I say no. CT doesn’t produce top talent.

I love these cfc parents... so your kid got dining hall money at fairfield, free parking at iona, free tickets to ccsu's acclaimed art museum, etc. They aren't full boats to virginia or stanford. So pipe down cfc azzclown. You spent your kid's years in bethany. How smart are you?

Playing at Oakwood as a female hasn’t been special for at least a decade. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn’t been paying attention to the CT soccer landscape or even the marginal landscape. This club is old and tired and getting worse by the year. Run away fast.
