lol the 04s have 16 on the roster and 03s have 14. I'd never advocate for rosters of 22+ but you really need 18 at these ages. Too many injuries, school visits and proms.

They can just pull up 07s to play on those teams; isn’t that what they do anyway? Play kids like 3-5 years up?

Speaking of the blather on here, how about the fact that the U15 GDA team is 13-1? Went 3-0 at Florida Showcase. Beat Midwest United, Legends-CA, and California Thorns. In the elite 8 of DA Cup. Ranked nationally.

So much of the knock on here is how bad GDA is in the northeast. Seems like the Oakwood teams are traveling well, so there goes that knock.

That’s because GDA is horrible all over the country now. The level of athlete that I saw in Florida was not very impressive

High school

Giving up high school soccer is absurd for any kid except the absolute top level pro prospect. Even for the kids who will play college being able to play for their high school with their friends is what playing youth sports is all about. Talking a kid into giving up that fun is really just the parents turning this whole process into a business. The same scholarships are available through the ecnl route if you are a top player. It really doesn’t make any sense in the us. You can’t get those high school memories back.

I have a kid at a big club other than Oakwood so no real dog in this hunt. But this feels like moving the goal posts. You're telling me GDA is bad everywhere now? I get it's weak in the N.E. where the stronger clubs are ECNL (PDA, FCStars, depending on age groups Matchfit, etc.), but these clubs can't all be crap. I mean the other group winners at U15 aside from Oakwood included LA Galaxy San Diego, San Diego Surf and Real Colorado. Those are all big time clubs with lots of history of sending top girls to college.

I hear real colorado is sending two to endicott and tow more to eastern. U of hartford might get one too
