True but everyone was making a decision before the announcement.

Do you think Ts was intended to trash soccer clubs, parents, and even kids themselves? Why are you on TS, because you want to do just that? Very mature. You’re response says it all. Dooshbag.

If they are playing the same teams over and over again more than twice in the given season why not play ECNL and high school. No MLS academy teams scheduled to play Oakwood, the boys side will struggle keeping players going forward.

How is it trashing a club when you can clearly see Oakwood is scheduled to play four games each against Bolts and Seacoast. You don't find a problem with that, is not the DA. azz wipe!

Wish I knew all this info before having my kid play for Oakwood this fall.

it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that is what happens on this site. If you don't like it, don't visit the site. Most of it is club management trashing each other in the hopes of keeping their brand image polished. Most parents don't give a crap about other clubs, just where their kids play.

True Dat....and most parents just send their kids where it is most convenient. I.e., if you live near OW you ain't traveling to an MLS club to be on their team. Traveling to play them is bad enough, no way doing it 3 to 4x per week.

CT families go to Red Bylls, NYCFC and the Revs. Not many but it happens. It isn't always successful either. But if your kid is good and you can make it work, go for it. More attention from college coaches, great coaching, free.

Yes there are always a few crazies, just like in politics but I try to keep it sane. If you live near Portland have fun traveling to NJ or NY. If you go to Foxboro training is probably worse there than OW.

How free is free with a minimum 12 to 16 hours of travel time plus tolls every week. Better for the kid to spend that time practicing or playing pick-up soccer.

Don't get me wrong if you live in Stamford than yes I would have my kid try out for NYCFC over BS. But living near Portland or Glastonbury, no way, especially at the younger ages. It is just insane to drive by a bunch of good clubs in a 2 hour drive to MLS team when they are young.

This is why if MLS was smart they will never stop playing teams like OW at the younger ages. It is an easy way to scout talent.

MLS can still scout non MLS teams without having to play them. Not that hard to send someone to watch a game or footage is on line. People will always want to be trying out for MLS clubs. They don't need the other clubs except purely from a geographic standpoint. I think that's why this is an one age group experiment so they can see how the travel works out

Now that BS and OW are considered Tier II clubs and do not get to play Tier as part of league play, does it still make sense for BS and OW to continue to be part of the DA system?

Wonder how MK and RD/DF feel about this.....seems like a major slap in the face. MK's ego in particular must be hurt.

Also, don't forget the impact on the players.....do they now find ECNL (FSA/CFC) a better option versus playing in the DA "B" league?
