College admissions like varsity athletes, even more varsity captains. Club soccer as an activity tends to not carry the same impact with them. If you've got a coach backing you up for admissions it's not a factor, but if you don't (D3 coaches don't have much pull) or even if you're not going to play in college, multi sport varsity athletes with awards and captancies impress them more (rightly or wrongly, it's just how it is).

Wow, how the mighty from Oakwood have fallen. How do you go from the greatest soccer player from the greatest club in ct, a member of multiple us junior national teams and even a captain. Fast forward and you aren’t even the best defender on your college team. See the list below

Defense let in 13 goals and posted 14 shutouts in 25 matches - seems like a pretty good defense.

Getting bounced by the National Champs 1-0 in the quarters makes PSU a pretty elite team.

Really? You expect one player to get a team to a national championship? As another pointed out they had a very good year, the kind of year schools would kill for. She's been out of OW for years so enough of implying it's somehow OW's fault she isn't the top pick. Not everyone will make it - there may always be someone better, or who works just that much harder. She's had an outstanding career so far.
