1) From a financial perspective FSA would expand their market beyond the CT river. It would increase the share of youth soccer by about 30%. The OW indoor facility would be divested. FSA doesn't needed and its currently under utilized.
2) From a talent perspective it would combine top talent which would provide a significant improvement from the current issue of splitting talent in a small geographic area, The boys combining would produce a serious MLS youth team and girls side would provide a significant improvement which would combine talent on par with CFC's branch model.
3) From a coaching perspective the combination would be impressive if done correctly.
One key to making this work is Sal would have to relinquish control of the club. He should run the business but not be involved in soccer decisions. He doesn't have a soccer mind. The Club should retain the Oakwood brand and the facility can remain FSA.

Oakwood
There is almost nothing to sell. What would fsa be buying? Players are not on long term contracts. They all could move to fsa now if they wanted or leave if a purchase happened
Fsa already has access to Ecnl. What would oakwood bring them?
Unless they bought it for peanuts and a few old soccer balls.

Do not forget in the price of the sale is OAKWOOD pond located in the back right corner of the parking lot. It takes up about 30 parking spots. LOL that parking area is so bad half of its washed out the other half is a pond. The new owners will also get two uncleaned PORTO bathrooms that have not been cleaned or dumped since the start of COVID. They are beyond hurting for money can not even empty a PORTO. But the bright side the 07 team did not lose but did not win. 0-7-1.

does anybody really know Rick or Dave? if you did, you would know the last thing they would do is sell Oakwood. This is their life, its has been for 50 years! If anything, they might accept a merger. But the question is with who? the hard sell of a merger is Dave and Rick will NEVER give up majority control of the business or soccer.
Oakwood will never sell that's a fact.
