Actually may be the best thing for OW/GAL. Eliminate the brainwashing of no HS and then actually strengthen teams with players that want to play HS. May mean the teams like OW eliminate NPL/EDP or consolidate with true a/b teams. Also give families options for less travel for exposure. But it's going to take time for the GAL to get where it wants to be, and ECNL is tightening the noose. Tbe boys side works for no HS, but for the girls it's all about the social aspect. OW is slow to react to that, as are other programs...

in all honesty. CT could put on a quality league of its own
Oakwood
CFC United
CFC North Regional
FSA
Rush Elite/regional
Ginga
Sporting
Vale
maybe have a few good out of state clubs that border CT for continued less travel
home and away games that's 14 games plus friendlies plus tournaments (pick elite tournaments for exposure)
20-30 years ago when it was like this with a State Cup the top clubs had no problem getting their best kids to quality schools.

Oakwood originally left that in state format because it had out grown it. It was so successful at u12-u19 the idea of the academy was a dream for them. Unfortunately that dream is fading fast and sadly they might be the one left out. They certainly cant get in to ECNL and EDP/NPL will be their only option.

I believe CFC and FSA are voting members.
Also Oakwood cant get into ECNL for the same reason that FSA cant get in to the academy.....proximity to each other, they would essentially be competing for the same group of players.
Small state....

FSA has deff tried to get in to the DA at least for the boys they have. Maybe not now since DA is falling apart, but at the beginning they certainly thought about it.
