    First off, I have inside knowledge that Beachside for a fact has broken laws in the past regarding DA players. They are nowhere near innocent so please spare us.

    Secondly, the whole goal of putting your son through a high level program and there own personal goal is to probably go professional. Why wouldn’t you want your kid at a NYCFC talent center or training with a MLS team?

    Your son probably was never invited and now you are mad at those that were.

      BS would be better off making an easy path to MLS clubs for talented players rather than try to block them. In theory clubs and coaches should push players forward who need more. However, that hurts team performance and ultimately the bottom line so it won't happen. Parents then see BS selfish actions - even though their kids aren't MLS material it reinforces the perception the club doesn't care about their players

        Think about it. Why are you posting this on the BS thread?

          Apparently, to let BS families know it's no better elsewhere.

            Personally, I would have my kid go to the PGA golf academy or NFL Football Academy as the rest of the world is lagging in these sports ..... less competition means my kid could easily go pro in two sports .... because it is really wise thing to chase pro dreams for all of our kids past U12 ..... everyone is going pro these days. It's so easy to do if you really want it and have loads of cash to burn to train them.

              This post is extremely ignorant and your intentions of being cheeky failed miserably. As the other posted stated, if you ask any serious young soccer player there goals in life 95% wil say play pro soccer. Getting them to talent centers and other forms of high level training are crucial in meeting these goals, especially given the professional coaches are right there watching. 10 years ago our country did not have access to this type of system and although there’s major flaws we have come very far.

                Lost half our team

                I'm a parent of a Beachside U-12 player, and my son has just lost half of his team. Some are going to NYSC, some are going to NYCFC, some back to town travel.

                I'm VERY UPSET.

                Team is in shambles, what options do we have?

                We've already accepted our offer for next year, and put down a deposit. I wish I knew all these players were leaving, I would have left as well.

                Next year will be horrible, and I don't know who to blame!

                    Since the team is going down to 11v11 chances are some players would have been cut, others leave on their ow. Maybe your kid will get lots of PT. have him play there in the fall and see how it goes. There's always other options, DA or otherwise.

                    Parents usually keep this stuff close to the vest but you can get hints the ship is sinking before you hit the iceberg - unless you're just completely out of the loop. So some blame on your part to not see it coming, but BS the club is losing players. That's where you should toss most of the blame.

                      I think to some degree there are legit reasons for you to be upset, and you can blame the system, the club, or whomever you want to blame.

                      But at the end of the day the issue here is that the Beachside SC program (fall/winter/spring) isn't the best anymore.

                      * MK and Omar are in bed for winter time - not ideal
                      * Beachside failed complex
                      * 1 less practice per week than other DA clubs
                      * Coaches come and go
                      * MK way or the highway
                      * Field rentals cost to much - consuming all the $
                      * BS blocking kids from getting MLS looks
                      * Fear tactics
                      * Mostly Rondo training - thanks COACH!

                      Its just not a good experience there anymore, even the people that stay don't love it, they just tolerate it.

                      In a few years, everyone will look back and note that this was the era that BS began to fail. MK will move on at some point, try and sell his club to Paul or someone else .... its just the way it is, sad, but the end.

                        Half of team did not leave. That's exaggerating.

                          6 kids going to other DA club
                          1 kid going to BARCA
                          2 kids going back to town travel
                          1 kid going to NYCFC

                          Thats 10 kids, out of 24, so you are correct, not half, but c'mon, the team lost half of its strength.

                          It is what it is .... I'm stuck as well.

                              BS Parent

                              My friend, my poor friend.

                              There have been 131,000 people who have viewed BS is BS, over 3,000 people who have participated in replies and dialogue. While I don't think BS is as bad as people make it out to be, there is clearly a major problem over there.

                              Fix the problem and you'll fix the players who leave. Ignore that problem and next year it will double just as this year it doubled from last year.

                              Beachside wants to bury its head in the sand, when they come up for air it will be a vacant field/club - and tier 3 status.

                              The Club needs to solve their problems by addressing their issues.

                              Not enough practices
                              Not a fun environment
                              MK is an angry dictator
                              Winter program is horrific
                              Treating families like garbage

                              Solve that.

                                If you don't know the answer to that, you've had your head well below ground level in the sand!

                                Are you a Beachside U-12 parent?
