What I don't understand though is why people think.da at a younger age is all that better at developing players because it's not . Academies draw talent from.other clubs at academy ages some kids are built and developed elsewhere.

I don't have a dog in this fight but did watch a bit of a few of the games. It was pretty bad soccer all around. Period. Yay for both Beachside "winning" but when my 10 year old dunks on my 5 year old, she doesn't celebrate it as a victory and neither should Beachside. Their teams won but they played terrible soccer against terrible teams. Period. Anyone who thinks there was talent on any of those fields on any of those teams, may want to take a drive down to the EDP tournament and watch the 08s. If it was a few travel teams then there would be nothing to argue about. If this was a few pop-up premiers, there would be nothing to argue about. When you have supposedly the best DA club in the area playing against low-level premier and not blowing everyone away, then there is something to talk about. Does anyone think that RedBulls, NYCFC, WorldClass, etc. would have struggled against Sporting or Rush?
If you are charging nearly 2X as much as a local premier club charges, your players had better be 2x as good, your coaches should be 3x as good, and your outcomes should be 10x as good. As someone else pointed out, you shouldn't even be playing in this tournament.Comment

You nailed it. BS is just a low-level premier club with a DA badge that tries to sell itself like it's the academy which will produce the next Messi. DA clubs, especially pay to play non MLS ones, are selling the myth that you have to have your kid in DA by U12. A well trained player with skills can work their way in later, even in HS. Just ask the 6-7 HS players BS added this fall. Find your kid good coaching in a decent league, do some extra training (mostly him working at it on his own) and see where he is well into Middle School.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment

TS can debate if BS is better than NYSC or if FSA is better than Oakwood. Including Sporting in the conversation is like including a Ford Bronco in a debate about whether Porsche or Ferrari is a better super car. I can handle the Oakwood vs. BS. vs. FSA debates but move along Sporting dad.
