Interesting tidbit in NESJ about a BS D1 commitment who chose a CT prep school as a PG over playing another year of DAP. He said he's becoming better individually as a player at prep school than if he would of playing another year of DAP.

You really have a gripe/ax to grind and something really happened with your kid to piss u off, it went much deeper than being cut or not making the roster.
Did you give few thou to the Banquet on top of player fees? Am I right.

Anyway get over it and go to another club and enjoy watching your kid finally get playing time sports can be painful when a kid can't play a certain level I know that feeling but let it go man, its no big deal, also every club in the DA system and I mean "Every" brings players in after High School without waivers.
Redbulls had four last season and six prior in combined age groups.
Dc United had a huge issue last season too and FC Weschester 18s nearly ccollapsed due to kids taking advantage of it , what you need to know is the USSF knows of the loophole but there's just nothing they can do with out alienating more players from the program , the MLS franchises are not the ones of concern its the BS s , Oaks etc.

Enuf said on this now there's more problems in this country than parents complaining about kids not making a team or club move on my man move on.
People were slaughtered today there's millions in need of food in various places due to hurricanes

Be happy your kid is healthy in which I hope but don't let your kid screw up emotionally its no big deal, believe it or not you probably saved a bunch for not making the team , just imagine what you can do with the dough, so enjoy and have a nice day I really mean that.

[QUOTE=You know way to much to not be part of BS administration[/QUOTE]

Actually my kid played for FC Westchester last season , we did tryout at BSC but didn't make it and Im not ashamed to mention it here, do i believe he was BSC material ? Absolutely! but like I said i was pissed because I saw the training was better but i had no choice in options since my boy was not Redbulls material or NYCFC either which they didn't have an 18s program then anyway and the surrounding clubs don't have HS age Academy , anyway all is well as he played for a short time only and now hes in College (non recruited) and that's fine maybe he'll do a walk on next season .
If you know Academy parents you will find the chatting on the sidelines very informative and I found some very nice parents over the 10 month season from 20 or so clubs as we played at showcases and so on.
I will say its a great experience for any kid and the competition is extremely high there's some good players out there.
If I was to do this again id probably bring my kid a year earlier but not before that.
I can honestly say I think its too much participating before U16 the kids miss so much starting thenat U12 and up and I can't imagine the dough spent along with family life i personally think its crazy, too many parents seeking fools gold but hey that's just me, like I said its a great experience for 1-2 years and you can be guaranteed your kid will improve.

                  Good luck.

"Coach Finberg focuses on individual players and getting us better, not as much on a system like in the academy," Martin said. "I feel like I’m getting better as player here at South Kent, more than if I were to play another year of academy."

Smart Young man. He wasnt going to improve his stock as a recruit. Probably gets a free ride while "Prepping" himself on the field and off for the next level. Dont think it was out of spite that he didnt return. He was done with Academy, no need to read into it.

They have a good program at Kent its one of the leaders in prep school soccer fantastic coach he does a good job on recruiting when it comes to Prep schools its all about recruits,
plenty of Ghana kids coming out of the Right to Dream program. https://www.righttodream.com/

As for Martin he already got committed playing for BS to UNC way before going to Kent , for most like him school work becomes hectic and kids start to under perform with too much Academy on the plate i believe another kid ended up at Syracuse from BS the same way.
The OP before made a good point in that by bringing kids before U16 can burn um out and puts tremendous stress on family's.
It seems to effect the low income ones more due to the financials. Lets face it if you've got three or four kids its almost impossible to manage the commitments even if the Mom stays home, its got to be painful to drag young ones back and forth to those practices and make them sit in the car four and five days a week, and unfortunately a club like Bs has no pity in understanding that.
Bs believes all the kids and parents are pretty much equal , Moms that dont work with babysitters/Nani's, six figure salary incomes along with his, hers and the Nani's brand new cars.

Its unfortunate but if you are a low income parent its not the place to be i dont care how much scholarship they hand out, its a difficult environment.
