they made offers to 4 north and 4 south 07s. saying they are making some cuts. no word when rosters will be released.

I do know they made 4 offers on North. Does anyone know the names on the South list they accepted? Appearently westport kids tried out at North but one of two were offered spots on South.

There was so much concern and panic about the 07/08s. When all is said and done, none of the current 07 players got cut and they added 2-3 kids in North and South for 07 and a bunch of new kids for 08. At least 2 of the new 07s that made the final roster came from the waitlist because 2 of the top choices declined their offers.

Either the tryouts attracted mediocre talent or the current team is very strong. Possibly a little of both. I do wonder if the new rule that forbids double rostering reduces the tryout pool. I know it may be a lot of soccer for some kids, but in our town, we have a couple of very gifted kids that don't want to give up playing with their friends/classmates.

Is BS the only team that forbids double rostering? There has to be some kind of compromise for little kids. It's hard to say "congrats, you are a talented player, so you need to leave all your friends and only play on a team with kids from other towns who you will likely never see during the week or for playdates.

At the same time, 2 premier practices + 2 travel practices + 2 games/weekend... not to mention making a hard choice during tournament weekends is also untenable. I get it for ages 14 and above but for 9 & 10 year olds?
