We're not talking about the difference between an 11 or 12 year old. These are essentially adults. Besides, around here plenty of parents essentially red shirt their fall birthday kids already, especially boys. Whether you do it in first grade or 3rd or HS it should be for the right reasons (academics, emotional maturity) not sports. Plenty do it just for sports.

You don't have to stay a full year.
There's plenty of kids that did the fall semester and entered College as a freshman in the Spring. The other SKS kid did that and went to Syracuse this past Spring.
You should know a kid can do this in public High School too, as long as he has all the required credits to graduate completed and then if he chooses to come back and take the graduation walk with his friends and get pictures taken but most don't because all the transcripts and Diploma has been generated to the student already and submitted to the college of their acceptance.

          Makes sense!
Explains also why the kids don't do anthing but mostly internship in the Spring Senior year

Prep school is for serious D1 level athletes who did not get recruited by their top choices and want more chance at it or they are all ready committed but the school does not need them until the following year because of roster issues (for example a top level keeper, recruit and the school has All American keeper who is Sr. and decent back up. So instead of redshirt freshman year and get no game time. Do a year or season of Prep school and then enroll either the spring of next fall. It's a win win when the player and program really like each other but the timing not right.

Prep school is for serious athletes or for spoiled rich kids who need to get their life in order.

You can always just home school Laval Ball style.

No way my kid would delay going to college with his grade cohort. He'd happily red shirt and get settled into school. I'd much rather pay for college vs prep school as well

There is playing time and then there is training at the college level. There is absolutely no comparison if the player wants to get better minus the actual game playing time. The schedule is a little different as well, how about a 6 am practice. Time to get going. If the player wants to get better and have a chance at starting, training every day with a team that would beat their club team 10-0 gives them the best chance.

Now we have problems at SHU with parking. This is getting ridiculous. Build the facility already!

You should only red shirt if you are getting alot of money from the school. red shirt gives you the fifth year for sports but you still are paying to attend the school. you dont see it much except in football and basketball.

if the prep school gives you money and some additional transferable credits it could be an option. not sure how you sell yourself to one of these schools though

Personally I love "Loopholes" the most successful people with the right Tax Lawyers use them everyday and didn't Trump become Presi and not pay taxes using Tax Loopholes?
As long it's not breaking laws or rules it's perfectly legal.

You sound like an angry parent something definetly buzzed you at Beachside.
                          Good day.
Apparently your in poor company as crazy sick gunmen love loopholes also. Bump stocks were legal but just a loophole for one purpose to get around automatic weapon ban.
Being ethical is a choice and more important in the long run than the success at any cost (except out his own pocket)the attitude that Mickey Kydes embodies. Micky will get his Soccer Park but his ethics are weak at best.

                          Good Luck

MK has been fortunate that the population of school aged kids has been solid for years. Now it's declining due to economics (people moving out of state) and just a general demographic wave. He now has to compete for fewer players with more clubs than ever (including two more DA clubs in NY that weren't there a few years ago). That's when price value how you treat people can really matter. I also think the location of the new park will be a big issue with many current families. Maybe they pick up new ones but it's outside the gold-coast zone of Darien etc.

Are you really Comparing a mass murderer with a Bump stock on his gun killing 58 and wounding hundreds to BS soccer park tax filings, are you kidding me? You are sick my man and BS has consumed you so much that you are loosing sleep at night while thinking about them all day.

Probably the best thing BS did was not pick your kid, you need help.

It's the Gold Coast Zone of Darien he needs to detach from , the clubs diversity is in desparate need.
I actually think the location is perfect as he will grab kids also from the Waterbury, Hamden and Valley areas, theres a lot of talented kids out there, but living on the coast one would never know.
His only challenge is more Scholarship.
