Hopefully not the number of young keepers. That's crazy for a position that only one player typically plays. Levene has started all but a handful of games the last several years
Really not cool, especially to GKs. Most programs carry 3, 4 tops (maybe one red-shirt). Imagine that sinking pit in your stomach when you find out there's that many?

I got an email from BS about their juniors program. Mine did the program several years back when transitioning between travel and club. It was in New Canaan at the time. The email said new location (Stamford), new day, lower cost. Is this in addition to being up "north"? Or are they slowly shifting their focus to lower FC now that their Monroe facility doesn't seem to be happening

They losing the NC field so moved to stamford. and enrollment been dropping since they went with younger aged teams. Less demand so cost went down.

Another BS kid on the roster just finished his junior year and never played a game. College soccer is not easy.

But he can always use the fact that he played D1 soccer at UCONN to get a coaching job after college. Honestly, most kids who haven't played in the first two years transfer if soccer's their be-all and end all. Guess this kid likes his spot, wants to complete his degree and move on. The writings' son the wall after two years.

Perhaps he's on a needs or merit based scholarship too

Juniors is like a loss leader at a super market - rope the ulittle families in, scout the talent and pick off the better players before another club does. They also may have gotten a better price in Stamford to help them lower the cost, or even scaled back the # of weeks. Big issue with BS is they don't own their fields so they have to pay top dollar to have reliable field availability. BS team prices are some of the most expensive in the state.

Just moving closer to the money. Stamford is right next door to Greenwich where he has long and strong ties. Groom the right parent and those private fields are a lock. They were so so close to lock up that whale. Also gives greater distance from its getto branch so the next whale's U-little has time to develop with proper people.

Have you never been to New Canaan or Darien? There's plenty of money all up and down the shoreline until Bridgeport and north into Wilton, Weston etc. Lots of families already hauling up to NC from Greenwich already. Personally I think it's not a good move - it puts them even closer to other NY and DA clubs, and they already lose players to them. They're moving out of their bread and butter territory.

You're correct, not a good move for BS at all.

Ray Reid did go crazy bringing in a lot freshman GKers last year. From what I heard he was not very transparent that there would be that many new keepers

This year brought in a young transfer from Syracuse.

At least one of the freshmen keepers is gone .. I wouldn't be surprised to see more gone too once roster gets published.
Ray Reid is a Turkish carpet vendor. Guy sucks
