Who says this, really? What a scumbag. And academy isn't the end all be all of soccer. You do realize this man. Also not every kid that's in academy actually belongs there or thrives or stays. Remember there are a lot of politics involved, just hope you are the right side of them.

Well, free cash, for one.......
A facility built with free cash, for two....
NEFC imploding in MA with kids looking to play, so three,
So, really, free cash is what makes sense, maybe you dont see that angle and think its all about the kids, lol. Who cares where its based, its where the cash is. They just go and recruit new squads at non-DA level, AKA ECNL/NPL and get another revenue stream. Nobody talks about where CFC is "based". Odd angle to follow.

The story is he is giving up on Fairfield county. Too much competition from ny clubs.
Not a bad idea to change your location in his sitiuation.

frankly if BS abandons FC it's a potential gold mine for anyone with half a brain and decent capitalization.

As for trying to "squeeze out OW and FSA"? MK can't pull that off. He's no business savant and doesn't have the capital either.

Academy parents can be annoying and they definitely are guliable. They initially buy the snake oil from the clubs - their kid is a chosen one for the special league. Over time they realize their kid isn't that great and gets little pt, maybe even gets cut. Depending on the club the training isn't that great, the travel sucks, their kid doesn't like it. The coups de gras is when they see that other talented non DA kids land college spots just as good as (some cases even better) DA kids without having to give up HS sports. This type of parent is usually at the pay-to-play clubs. If their kid was good enough they'd be with an MLS club where the talent wins over the ability to write a check.

As in any business. If you dont evolve to change with the times and adjust based on market conditions and competition you simply dont survive. In the business world there is a graveyard of companies who thought their past glory and/or brand would propel them into the future. Anyone remember DIGITAL, Netscape, Oldsmobile, Polaroid, and more recently Toys R Us?
BS has the EXACT same issues. Give MK credit. 20 years ago he built a great program and brand that even today gets soccer moms excited to tell their friends about how little Johnny made the 09 team. However as everyone repeatedly pointed out it's a different world. Many options, more informed parents, etc.
MK is running BS with a 1980s playbook. If he does not make a DRAMATIC shift in strategy, you can add the BS name to the long list of great brands that are extinct.

Easy. In Fairfield you can just play in CCSL with Rush or Everton. Kids will get amazing coaching and great competition. All the best players are going there. Everyone knows that
absolute rubbish
