Of course they care. The question really is how much the club influenced the development and growth of the player.

I don't think there is much doubt about the influence of the Red Bull Academy. Not sure you can make the same statement about Mines' other clubs, as the relate to his growth as a player.
I think that' s the poster's point. While early clubs have some influence, most likely OW and the Red Bulls had far more than BS did when he didn't even have a hair on his chin.

He was a U11 playing up — stayed with BS till U13 then moved to the Oakwood 13/14DA without any on that Regionals rostered team mentioned in the Norwalk Paper.
BTW BS had a 13/14 DA team and he did not stay , wonder why?

The parents passed the BS club up after years of their older kids being committed - went and brought this younger kid to Oakwood... OMG!

You have to be pretty dedicated to trek to OW from Norwalk.

Just as bad. 66 miles vs 63 from Norwalk, in rush hour.

That’s the point it’s even further. Most of Ridgefield is more than three miles from Norwalk

Driving to NJ is awful at prime rush hour. Really it's going to be at least 90 minutes. Granted it's Red Bulls vs OW. Had NYCFC DA been fully operational in 2015 it likely would have been a different choice

If your kid wants it then NO drive is considered hell.

Obviously the ride was petty enough that he even turned down a full scholarship to Stanford , a fantastic school and the 3 peat NCAA D1 Champs. This kid took the chance ,if only more could, US soccer would improve.,...College soccer sucks.

When you are home schooled you can beat rush hour

90 minutes to go 70 miles in FC/NY/NJ rush hour traffic? This ain't Mayberry, Opie.

According to the prior poster it doesn't matter if you're home schooled. Of course, who wants to hang out it that NJ armpit for 2 hours waiting for practices, just to get a jump on traffic? Do the parents work from home? Hire a driver? Not have other kids?
