this view is so short sighted. yes the coronavirus is a cold in many people but the main point is it is a novel virus to which humans have NO immunity. the reason everyone doesn't get a cold or everyone doesn't get the flu is because many people have immunity which stops lines of transmission and prevents a global pandemic. which is what we are trying to prevent now with these seemingly overblown cancellations. imagine if EVERYONE got Corona which COULD happen since again humans have NO IMMUNITY to this disease. even if the death rate is just 2%, times that by 400 million Americans or 6 billion humans in the world and that's a whole lot of dead people.

You're right, Corona Virus isn't the flu, in most people, it's more like a cold.

3 Rivers, Spokane Sounders, FC Spokane and Timbers/Thorn in North Idaho all canceled travel games this weekend, EW Surf and Washington East team still traveled. Been hearing through the club my kids play for is they most likely will not travel the rest of the season and possibly even back out of State Cup

It's not that EWA refused to play, it's that we were told this on Friday:

After consultation with Washington Youth Soccer, Eastern Washington RCL Clubs will not be participating in RCL League or Northwest Conference games this weekend, March 7th and March 8th, due to safety concerns about the COVID-19 outbreak in Western Washington. This cancellation is in effect for both our home and away matches this weekend.

We had two home games.
