High School Soccer (Girls)

my kids really enjoy playing high school, it's low stress compared to club for them. A lot ECNL kids don't play to avoid injury, there are way more injuries in HS. A HS senior girl with a grudge can brutally foul a player taking them out of the game and maybe get a yellow. Had 1 ACL tear on our girls varsity. Our high school coaches are both ex football guys, they both got hired by titans, one is an EA coach. Nice enough guys, but they aren't very good coaches. One has seen to may disney movies and is always making inspiring speeches, the other thinks telling his team they suck, and he knows they are going to lose before a game (won 1 game in 2 years) will motivate the players to prove him wrong, guess he hasn't spent much time with females as that is not going to motivate them. Ttians must be desperate and now they are trying to recruit players, just got the first e-mail from them about surf and the great opportunity to be seen by college coaches . . .

Why are you making this an XF thing? Ever think there are clubs other than XF. Stop the deflecting Titans/Surf wanta be and focus on the real conversation.

HS while ot provides connections and school spirit, it is by no means the place for betterment or to get noticed. Most of the time it's hack coaches that are chummy with the school AD that over works the players and doesn't know how to coach.

The pay more for part of season is a total racket. Coaches get paid for the whole year but get 3 months off.

Accusing someone else of spouting nonsense while yourself linking to the wrong bracket is a bold move. You linked to the metro tournament bracket. Roosevelt then went on to win the state tournament. They are a well coached team with a lot of strong players from ECNL and other club teams — even though one of the top players from the school from xf chose not to play hs this year. There are a number of metro teams (Prep, HNA, Blanchet, Lakeside, Lincoln, Ballard, Roosevelt, Eastside Catholic) that are well coached and full of ECNL players, and a lot of the games between them are as good or better than your typical local ECNL team. Only four of those teams even made the state tourney because the powers that be decided to give a bunch of spots to districts that have a lot fewer decent teams. It’s similar with the 4A schools from Kingco. There aren’t a lot of strong players from those schools who didn’t play hs — probably fewer than five or so, and all from xf. Almost all the top players, including those from xf, played.

High school sports should just be a fun break from Club sports. My XF player has never been told she cant play HS soccer. Its a nice break for everyone and shouldnt be taken too serious.
