Again, no need for a tryout. If you are going to take the check, then earn it.

I am not a homer for pspl or what ever they are calling themselves now.

But there are a lot of alumni pspl playing good minutes at D1 schools.
This is surely one of the silliest things I've ever read. Anyone can sign up for tryouts. And go to tryouts. There are kids from all sorts of clubs that make it each year, not just the big ECNL clubs. As an earlier posted pointed out, sure it is difficult to stand out in a large field with lots of kids, over just two days. But that's the way it is. Just like life! They only take 40-50 kids per age group, so not everyone is going to make it. Honestly, if a kid is really fast and skilled and stands out, they have a better chance of making it. It is not perfect and sure the EPD coaches at tryouts probably have some bias for kids they know. But if two kids are pretty similar, doesn't it make sense to select the one you know a little more? These coaches do actually want to end up with a good team that can win at the tournaments. If I were a hiring manager and had two very similar candidates, and I had worked with one before and knew they were reliable and capable, I'd be inclined to choose the known quantity.

I think people just get so offended when their kid doesn't get selected, and then come up with all sorts of excuses about why it's rigged, etc...

And finally, what in the world would you sue for??? Threaten to sue??? Sorry, that just sounds ridiculous. Sign your kid up for the tryouts. Take your kid to tryouts. If your kid stands out in the top 20-30, they will probably make it! The bottom 10 or so, yeah it's tougher!

I am a parent of a kid who's been selected to the pool a few times. Made some travel teams but cut from others. It was a good experience. I've watched a few tryouts. Lots of kids, a few standouts. Ultimately, no one can stop a kid from being an incredible player. Not making EPD doesn't block a kid from becoming really good! Put in the time, it will be rewarded. There are lots of avenues for success.

pspl is a good place to start, but you want to finish in a ecnl club.

spot on. if you don't make the switch to ECNL club by u13, your child will be left behind. simple as that

No one improves by going epd, it’s just a vanity thing for parents. All the hard work and training is done at the club level, ecnl preferably.

Let’s be honest. The big club level provides you the opportunity to show your skills. The big club level allows you to play against better team.

but the practices and training with the club had little benefit. Practicing 3 to 4 night a week, was not protective. Twice a week and the outside training From the club would have been much better.

You don’t think practicing with/against better players is helpful? I do.

I agree. Faster, bigger, better players then your club team. Not the end all be all but helps with development and appreciation of where you stand

If you think training 3 days a week will get your kid into the starting 11 of an ECNL team at SU, XF, or EFC you are wrong. Most kids at that top level are training at minimum 4 days a week (many 5 days including strength/speed/conditioning plus games. And the kids love it.

                  it's not for everyone.

EPD is sometimes that 4th or 5th training in a week.

                      Isn’t it once a month?

Yes, hence why I said "sometimes"

I believe you are supporting my point. Training outside of your club is better than more training with your club.

Not supporting your point. But if you are changing your point to reflect what I said. Ok.
