Why didn’t Manny Martins from the UO go for the OSU job? Would’ve been a perfect fit unless they only want someone with D1 head coaching experience or only a female?

Probably want a woman if he was truly let go due to being too tough on or verbally abusing female players. Or at least some serious D1 coaching experience. Pac 12 job needs a very strong candidate and someone who can recruit better talent. Martins could’ve been that person.

OSU must be close to announcing their new coach. Only a couple months till games start. A Pack 12 job would get many applications from good coaches.

If players are leaving a formerly top-tier squad for greener pastures, that doesn't look good.

Rats jumping off a sinking ship? Far less of a concern.

New coach is going to bring in his/her players, and the players from the old regime might find themselves on the bench watching. Given that the Lady Beavs stank last year, not a one of them would have any right to complain. If a woman (these aren't girls any more, they're women) is in Cowvallis mainly due to soccer rather than to receive an Oregon State education, might as well move on if her intent is to maximize her playing time, before her career comes to an end.

If, on the other hand, soccer is mainly to help pay for school, and a player DOES want to graduate from OSU (they are a good school in many disciplines), probably best to stick around, even if you'll be leading the cheers.

Because employers often allow employees to resign with dignity intact, then making it public that they were fired, especially if the termination is not for cause? Ex-employee agrees to go away without making a stink, in exchange for not having his/her reputation publicly sullied.
