There was a rumor of his pending resignation on a college coaching forum. Posting here was pre-mature. There's been a lot of coaching movement as of recent and I would consider this announcement has premature and false. Nothing to see here.

I think we better hold that fake news thought for a bit! I think there is some truth to this "rumor"

Honestly, hope it is fake news but the rumors of Amato going to UF were thought to be fake news until it was officially posted so who knows?
Wait, maybe the Oregon State coach is going to Arizona now.

Crazy. Three PAC-12 head coach openings that likely won’t be filled until June/July. Sucks for the players and new recruits coming in.

"pursue other opportunities".
Management doublespeak for "was sacked, but being allowed to save face by resigning".
Usually, if a coach leaves to take a better job, the first the public find out is when he is at the press conference hosted by the new place; and this happens after a successful tenure at the old job.
But this, obviously, was a firing.

Utah out because didn’t do well for years and only recruited 90% from Utah leftovers after best went to BYU or out of state. Bottom of Pac schools Utah and the 2 Oregon schools should be recruiting at least 75% from out of state, especially if you can’t get the top players from your own state like the Oregon’s can.
No idea why Kagan out so soon other than had one improved year and then right back to last this year. Also, there were those rumors about some internal investigation of him a little while ago. With this news, those rumors sound a lot more plausible and the team might be better off without him. Being Pac Twelve, OSU should be able to attract a top coach. If the recruits are good, they’ll be fine. If they got in because of connections and aren’t fast enough and strong enough for college ball, they would’ve sat the bench under Kagan as well. OSU has one of the largest rosters so 2/3 players don’t play much or at all. The recruits knew this going in. Only one I feel bad for is KL but he has a good gig going in club soccer so he’ll be fine as well.
Big question now is
