Ignorant desperation. Trying to judge a league based on a team or club who may not last or be good enough. Such broken logic.

Well... every club bashes ECNL until they get in like the Thorns. They bash travel until they get into a travel league. They bash what they don’t have if they are on the outside looking in.

Wrong, Oregon as a whole gets bashed for registering 3 clubs in a 'travel only' league that in theory is selling a standard better than local fare, which it sadly is not...

This delusion is fueled with the disposable income of brain dead parents based on the calculus of local con-artist soccer bums.

        THIS IS OREGON FOLKS!

        WAKE UP!!

Anyone who claims the standard of soccer in ECNL is lower than OYSA is either lying or ignorant. Take your pick.

              GDA is the best

              There is no comparison

GDA is the best just look at the clubs.

Bridge City has never ever lost a league game. That is impressive

              Harbor dominates Gig Harbor

Eugene FC, what else needs to be said about this club. I think they won a state cup on the girls side once

And then Washington Timbers, they are a good club in OYSA.

Wow this is an impressive group. I just wish I was coaching one of these teams, because it will be a big pay day

I don't think Bridge City has every even PLAYED a league game?

Exactly, then why are clubs/teams of such low caliber in the ECNL?

Anyone who believes that Oregon has enough regional/national talent in soccer to field 3 teams per age group from u14 to u19 in a national league isn't ignorant they are simply brain dead. Nothing to 'pick' in that brain.

This is certainly true. Oregon barely has enough talent across that many age groups to support one “elite” program.

Oregon youth soccer won't be complete until every blue-chip club has a different travel league in which to put their A teams, so none of them ever have to play each other.

No reason there shouldnt be at least 8 Elite teams.

As far as competition goes, the WA clubs that are in this are all stronger than anyone left in OYSA. Also people seem to be forgetting there are 8 northern Cal teams that are in the Northwest division, so its not just playing against the WA and OR teams, they get the value of playing against that group as well: Breakers, Clovis crossfire, FC bay area, lamorinda, SF elite, SC sporting, SVSA, West coast soccer.
Sounds like a big expense when those teams can find comparable competition locally. Not sure why we have 5 travel teams in the pdx/SW Washington area. What happened to the days when only the best kids EARNED their spots on a travel team and it was an accomplishment and honor to make a team of that nature. Now if you can cut the check you daughter can play and travel all over and post all over IG. Don’t see any value here when it comes to developing the local youth and keeping costs reasonable and having true athletes and kids who want to compete. All these teams are full of players who know nothing about what it really takes to compete.
