Many ECNL teams you don't have to be good to be on. Mum and Dad just need to write the checks.
It’s all about the team and coaches. The league doesn’t matter nearly enough.

There are bad teams in ECNL. There were bad teams in DA before it fell apart. OYSA has good and bad teams.

    The patch/league means nothing.

      league>coaches

I could have coached the Lakers and still would have won it all.

ecnl is an expression of the wealth of the family. your kid doesn't have to be good. just like buying a $90 t-shirt at a boutique in beverly hills. if you got the money, anyone can buy it.

$800 designer hand bags work the same as the north face bag you got at tj maxx for $9.

Interesting point but most teams do need a good coach to be successful.

            Travel only teams need chaperones.

            It's about exposure not competition.

            Backwater beauty pageants.

actually most teams just need structure.

That's because they have AD and LeBron, and everyone good at Golden State was hurt.

It's not because being the Lakers makes them magically good; two years ago the Lakers stunk. Then they had a big free agent haul.

Kind of like ECNL. Nothing about the league itself is special, other than their ability to recruit elite players by waving the cachet of a "travel league", and/or claimed connections with college coaches, in front of players' faces.

The best way to win games, in any sport, is to recruit the best players. If that's all a club cares about, it's easier to focus on recruiting, and let the clubs they recruit from worry about the teaching.

So if AD and Lebron move to the D-league, will everyone else follow suit? Never.

                  ECNL is the NBA.

ECNL is the NBA & the NBA is the WNBA.

Oregon club teams that annually prioritize the HS season as the 'thing' --also choose the travel only option for showcasing with their neighborhood club when HS is shutdown.

The logic behind this is supported by parents covering all travel costs and willing chaperones who come along in this lipstick on a pig parade that never ceases to entertain.

This is the structure these 'coaches' provide.
HS #1 --followed by a close second of traveling for showcasing.

The point was made that's tougher than coaching the Lakers, since the Lakers have actual talent.

Eastside 02 beat crossfire ecnl 4-2 and easily better than fc portland. GPS 03 has much better commits than fc portland and thorns with 4 D1 and 3 Pac 12 commits.

If you think ecnl teams in Oregon make you a better player or have a better shot at committing you’ve been lied to. All you need to do is research and not listen to the BS.
On the girls side, doesnt Crossfire united have th most d1 commits over the last several years?Salmon Creek 00 or GPS 03 might have the highest percentage of a single team but they spent just as much money on travel. The proof will be who can get players committed during virus times. GPS 03s have continued to travel to tournaments to have games. Anyone else?

Sorry but a d1 commit in a non head count activity like women's Soccer is about a impressive as choosing what floor you are staying in your student housing. You folks don't get it, the supply of d1 female athletes does not match the demand (# of schools offering the activity) so programs are forced to recruit up to 10 to 15 players each year (not scholarship level) that get no monies, must pay for school and probably never see the field. This happens year, after year, after year since those 'recruited' squad members give it up after one fall season which re ignites the process for the next recruiting season...

The proof is title ix has created more d1 programs with a limited supply of d1 players available.

                          Basic economics.

This upside down model created the club travel platform of showcasing, since the supply of players doesn't match the demand. Basic manipulation of a wrecked market by club DOC's to suck dollars from naïve parents, it's hilarious on the girls side of things. Travel on Garth.

Highly doubt it. Coaches are important in high level athletics. Unless you have a high level of the needed skills to manage egos, teach defense, off court management, and ten other things, you would likely fail.

First of all, just skimming what you wrote was painful to get through. Like chewing a mouthful of broken glass.

Second, what I did read was awful whiny. Do you need a nap? Maybe a warm bottle of milk?

Crossfire United had most. Don’t know now.
