While clubs, DOCs and coaches talk about consolidating talent, they only mean them consolidating talent. Now that there are a number of ECNL clubs in town, they can’t help but bash the concept. They would rather everyone stay local so they can keep their top players and keep with the same old model.

So, DOCs and coaches being the cowards they are, they come here to bash each other.
    lol....this is the truth.

No one on here knows who is in or out. Dont believe anything you hear until an ECNL announcement is posted on their website. The truth is, soccer is very fluid and changes every year. You wont really grasp what happened until your kid is in their last year. Just enjoy the ride, it goes fast.

It's too bad that the organizations seeking to consolidate talent, are just pay to play youth clubs that offer no real advantage over any else. (This includes Thorns, unfortunately).

At least the Timbers Academy is free and the kids occasionally get to train alongside actual professionals, even if TA is a p1ss poor MLS academy.

What do the ECNL clubs offer? Better coaching and facilities? Snort. A more rigorous training program? Bwahaha. Subsidized training? Thorns did, once. Lots of expensive trips to NCAA cattle calls? Ding ding ding we have a winner!

It's like high fashion. The clothes aren't any better made, but at least you know the cleaning lady can't afford it too...

Every club is pay to play. Even the Timber’s GDA was pay to play. Cost rose every year with that program and was close to ECNL in its last year. This is an American youth soccer issue. It is not an ECNL or other league problem.

The absolute best platform and showcases for getting kids into college to play soccer.

Is it 100%...no. And yes, it is not free and not for everyone.

              *It's a US Club league.

*With 3 Oregon clubs signed up and more to come we are told, this upstart from travel only platform is actually more inclusive than 'exclusive'.

*Without any tangible player talent consolidation taking place at any Oregon club, due in large part to the lack of attractive or top notch coaching staff and the business reality of so many clubs needing to hold on to paying players in ensure they can meet director & Coaching payrolls. The actual consolidation of the 'best of best' for girls in Oregon has not been en vouge since the late 90's. Furthermore there is no data to support a laughable claim that a US Club league somehow offers better or improved competition. Compared to what? HS Soccer competion in Oregon?

*Graduating HS Girls continue to join Soccer rosters at (NJCC,NAIA,DIII, II & I) schools because there are so many programs that need players due to the title ix balancing act & the demand for players literally exceeds the interest and supply. USYS girls use to be the only ones playing college soccer, now with the explosion of college teams needing players the USYS, US Club & even HS only non club will join teams. This doesn't mean HS, USYS or US Club are any better that each other. This is where you get it so twisted, it comes off like who have a really bad case of brainwashing. Much like watching the MAGA fanatics storm the Capitol because the election was stolen! Weak minds are difficult to combat.

*Traveling thousands of miles to play out of state teams that are just like the average teams in the US Club league from Oregon, is beyond stupid.

Which begs the question what type of club leadership attempts to sell this scam to parents and what type of ignorant parent buys into this underwater time share opportunity?

Well the good part is you have options. Just choose your path and I will choose ECNL.

The ecnl teams are lucky because they get to play all kinds of different teams every year and the competition is generally much better than anything in the OYSA. However, a player doesn’t get to look like a star in a little pond so easily in ECNL and there are good and bad coaches in both leagues. Pros and cons to both. Choose and enjoy.

If an Oregon girl can afford thousands on travel every year, the college 2nd assistant observing a showcase can let their boss, the head coach know this girl can afford the annual 75k cost of attendance and take roster spot #26..

                    Ecnl identifies very well.

Older daughter's team had a large recruiting class, most successful in college. Younger daughter's team in good shape and hopefully they will have a season next year to wrap it up.

Nobody is naming anyone on this anonymous chat.
You didn’t need to name your coach. Obvious from your post. Hopefully the NWC gets some spring games in for the Washington schools.

Your coach had some good talent and recruited well from girls who tried Thorns and didn’t like it. Having the best GK in the history of Oregon didn’t hurt.

Yea yea yea... you either work a non ecnl club or are a parent of a kid who didn’t make an ecnl team.

You keep campaigning for the same old system. Let’s all just keep doing what we have been done the past 30 years because why change right? Everything is just fine right? Regional and national soccer has been coming for the last decade. It is here and it isn’t going away.

If you’re club were in, you’d be making a very different post. The fact is you have a financial reason for disliking ECNL because these clubs are consolidating talent and that hurts your pride and income. It’s not about kids for you. It’s about you.

                          So keep posting your stupid.

I know you’re trying to be clever and clearly desperate to sell your local club soccer. But you’re being dishonest. ECNL is better competition and a provides better exposure to college recruiters. This is FACT. 90% of ECNL players go on to play in college. Another FACT.

Any HS girl who wants to be part of 26 to 28 player roster in college wil have a 100% chance of achieving this dream no matter what leagues her local club team particpates in.
title ix has created a demand for participants at jc, naia, ncaa 1 2 & 3 that exceeds the supply of interested hs girls.

Twisting data for your narrative is a universal tactic my hopeless friend.
