I think we should lock down until this is completely eradicated into next year and be ready to shut down again for flu season and lock down all next summer so everyone can have a good life.
    Enhanced unemployment for the win.

Not sure about fall soccer. High school soccer will probably be pushed to the spring like in wash.

I am sure that Fauci is an expert. Has been for many years and through many presidents. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t make mistakes, as he and all expert epidemiologists admit.

There won’t be in any in-person school, all the unions and districts will dig in like Woodburn. They all renewed their contacts on July 1st so still getting paid. So what does that mean for athletics?

If they don't work, they don't get paid. So hopefully those teachers that want to stay home on the couch have money in savings to pay bills. Taxpayers don't get to pay them for watching Netflix or playing video games.

All school will be online. Teachers will get full salary for spending ten minutes a day putting homework links in some online program that will probably crash a week into the year.

Nor is any of this an exact science. Modeling is only as good as the quality of the data inputs. In this case the inputs keep changing. Six weeks ago there wasn't much chatter about schools not opening. Colleges were making plans to reopen also. Now it's all upended because some (well, many actually)states and residents didn't follow recommendations.

It will be a tragedy if school is online. 60% of the students were unsuccessful in the first round of online schooling. Depression rates are skyrocketing. Take away sports and the damage gets deeper.

Obviously a person who doesn't know a single teacher. If it's so easy you should apply.

Ya they forgot to say you can work from home so you don't even have to leave your bed.

God, I am so sick of hearing this type of crap..."If YOU take away sports," as if to say one person or person's are responsible?? Wake the eff up, please! They are calling COVID19 a pandemic for a reason. I do not want to hear about "only the old, and unhealthy are dying" or the "it is no worse than the flu" argument. My 51 year old sister died for COVID. She was healthy, except for well managed diabetes that was diagnosed at 6 years of age. How did she get exposed??? As a age faculty member. Seriously, in the grand scheme of thing, gather perspective beyond your own little, insignificant opinion.

Are kids depressed? Of course. Are sports beneficial? Of course. Is it safe for sports right now? No. End of story. Could things be worse? Absolutely! Will things get worse? That is up to all of us. Right now, I am not betting on anything good happening soon do the divisive nature of this country. When a pandemic becomes a political talking point and tool, we are all effed. So, please stop with the kids and depression argument. There are bigger problems. Amateur hour is over.

2,800,000 people die every year from obesity.

Once we all get done being locked down for Coronavirus we will have another lock down for obesity which is 20x worse.

We need to stop thinking about an in person world. Stop being greedy.

Life as we know it is over. Get used to it.

Kids in poverty are struggling with isolation, depression and malnutrition. And no high speed internet.

I hated my job so I’m loving staying home. Keep the unemployment checks coming and we can lock down for 20 years for all I care.
