WA moved HS soccer to an 8 week season or 9 counting 1 pre-season week of practice, in March and April. There are 4 sports seasons this next school year in WA. If Season 1 in Fall happens, cross country looks to be the sport of choice for nearly all athletes-boy or girl. Unless the guys prefer golf or girls prefer slow pitch softball- though many schools only support a fast pitch program or maybe swimming- TBD still by Health office. For WA kids, it is time to get out of the house and start running to stave off shin splints. One week of pre-training before a season of longish distance running will be a recipe for injuries potentially. -

College soccer: More than 250 NCAA Division III colleges and universities with soccer
The Middle Atlantic Conference with two conferences and 17 soccer-playing schools in three states, the Ohio Athletic Conference and Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference are the latest NCAA Division III conferences to suspend fall sports for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Division III is the largest of the NCAA's three divisions with more than 400 colleges and universities fielding men's or women's soccer teams and almost 24,000 student-athletes taking part. More than 250 colleges and universities with soccer have called off fall sports.Of the 44 Division III conferences, 26 have now postponed fall sports. Some conferences plan to revisit the situation regarding fall sports after school opens while others are working to move all or most fall sports to next spring.
