A lot of the training is drillwork, but really, that is something I thought they would be excelling at over the kids who have been playing club, and I am just not seeing it.

Wait til there is something to actually prove on the line and competition.

These practices are boring af for them

When the time is right and the competition comes calling, you better watch out. My kid will drop the holy boom. He's playing it coy now because training is meaningless. He will hit the competition like a freight train. They won't know what hit them.

I will be on the sidelines laughing and laughing at everyone who thought he slowed down, gained weight and lost his touch. Just wait.

It's all part of the bigger plan.

These practices are boring af for all of the kids, not just those who used to be in TA.

Correct. I didn’t say they weren’t . I only know the TA kids on the team since my kid is one.

I’ve been watching the practices and trying to stay awake myself.

I had no idea. This is chilling and a little scary.

Invites are out. If your kid didn’t get one no biggie. Majority of the kids aren’t even in puberty. Lots of changes will happen.

Invites are out for 09 and 08. Suspect there will not be many kids outside of ODP's 08's invited. Not many others are good enough to make the team otherwise they would have been playing with ODP.

Anyone know the format this year?
Number of kids invited? How many total practices (saw the 2x a week, but in "blocks")?

Think of a playground atmosphere with free play scrimmages & recess monitors to oversee the action, after a month or so the monitors tell the not so hot ones it's time to go back to your club full time. They then invite a new batch of early developers into this recess soccer format called discovery. Not really sure if the title is geared for the youth TA coaches or the kiddos. Let's be honest having 2 extra recesses a week of free play outdoors, even if it's just for a month or 2 is still fun. This is what you creating work for the monitors since the parent club only has u15, u17 & u19 side outside of some PR it produces nada in the long run for the 1st team. What the heck, those at recess get to play the game they love so more.

Unfortunately clueless parents want to extrapolate this type of common occurrence of decent 11 & 12 years playing as a verifiable pathway to the pros....Which is a complete break from reality.

It's great community outreach and brings back the lost art having kids playing for fun without interference.

So, you get off on being the contrarian. The one always trying to pretend to be smarter than everyone else in the room. It is a sign that you have no control over your real life and no authority as well. But carry on. Keep telling us how bad everything is. On each forum. Cause you have nothing better to do.

                                Reality is daunting, I agree.
