We are quarantined from the closed shop MLS DA, absolutely. When you have vacation homes at the beach & mountain(redmond) our friday's nights during covid aren't spent here in the pdx area, anxiously preparing to click on zoom and be dragged through RM's useless 'discovery' drivel. How does it feel to be a stereotype? I got no skin in this game. I have a talented girl. Reality in America, if you have money you can pay for the team year after year, the gear, private trainings, the travel and to put your kid with potential in a position to maybe be plucked to train at an academy. With no soccer endemic culture, this is all most American kids can hope for, be born into the right family in order to get in the train by U10 to be competitive with kids from soccer cultures. Sure, there are always exceptions, but this is reality, and it is felt far more intensely on the girls side. If you have money and a couple vacation homes your kid has a significantly higher chance of being better. You probably work hard for your money and earned it. Truly, I believe good for you and the opportunities your provide for your children. This is America for goodness sakes! But until “people with money” and typically there follows “influence and power” understand THEY need to help make highest level soccer low cost from a much younger age in the states, we will keep limiting our pool for strong US players in MLS and diminishing the potential for our national team. Unfortunately, typically those in power do not advocate for change or even have the vision and stamina for it.

But if what you say is true, then their kid is no threat to taking your kid’s or anyone else’s place in the program and your comments are sophomoric. Why let them get under your skin and propel this poster forward? On the other hand, if what you just wrote is not completely true, then you are just lying to yourself. One way you are juvenile and the other you are dishonest, neither one is a good face.

My kid already plays on an older TA team so there is no threat. I’ve seen this attitude for years with other parents, former teammates etc. it’s worse on an anonymous forum but a spade is still a spade .

You buy a "mountain house" in Redmond when the real estate in Bend or Sisters or Sunriver or Black Butte Ranch costs too much. Still closer to the slopes than Portland.

No updates? I mean, I don't care about them. I don't care about the Timbers Discovery Program either. They are all dumb. Real dumb, ask anyone and they will agree. They don't know talent, kids, or soccer. I'm not sure why I am here. I can't wait till someone updates with what they talked about though so I can tell them how smart I am and explain how I know better than the Timbers. I wish my son was better but it is the coaches fault that he isn't. Dumb coaches, dumb Timbers, **** life.
