Time to reinsert these kids Back info the local rec leagues. Unless you’re in the Washington League you’re playing junior academy league. I wish they would allow Oregon clubs to compete in the Washington league!

Time stamped in 2018/19. But the word finally gets to the daydreamers during covid 2020. No surprise.

The 07's kind of got done dirty with this. It will be interesting to see if there is commitment from 08 players to participate in the twice a week "discovery program" when there is not a team until U15. I think it is unlikely that there will be interest from a majority of the players that were in the final group. With the lack of commitment coupled with how the TA did the 07's we made the decision that we will not be moving forward with them. Our club is solid and has provided us with a great experience.

- Only U15, U17, U19 and T2 for the TA
- 07/ 08 discovery program that will practice twice a week
- 07 will be recycled back to their club teams for a year

Hope to see you all on the field in the Fall.

Correct. The 07s have been done dirty this whole year.

No coach for the first couple months, no league, now this.

That said my son still loved playing in that environment and will be back for u15

This type of youth programming for a franchisee in the single entity MLS LLC stuck in Portland Oregon. Sadly it's simply a bottomless money pit not to mention it's left an indelible stain on the DNA of our youth soccer boys in the region.

There is absolutely no chance of any ROI for the franchisee when they rely solely on local metro kids who parents bring them to 'tryout' as early developers from the ages of 10yrs old to 15/16.

Since 2012 this broken model hasn't even approached the quality of the local club fare Pre Timbers DA, neither in talent, coaching or standard of play.

They need to get wise about youth player identification and recruit all over the globe, if they have any scouts capable of identifying talent locally, then invite those kids in at the U15 level their youngest team.

These hopeless kickarounds for the wee ones they are throwing out now with what's left of the TA flunkie staff can be done with a group text at a local park without the minion staffers.

There is no linkage between the youth local player and the 1st team, unless they buy trademark timbers apparel or fork over cash for season tix.

Or it will turn out like it did for so many of the TA rejects that were cast off back to their local HS over the past decade and they weren't relevant at the HS level once they came back.

Just an FYI these coaches are flat broke PPP has run out, their club is close to bankrupt surprised only 5 clubs reached out for your club fees.

Without anything tangible offered by the Timbers DA, free play with some other kids ever so often is great. I love the fact Timbers aren't offering any teams or league, this way the club teams will get less diluted and build up stronger teams in time. Appreciate the Timbers looking out for the local kids and the state of play in Oregon. Finally, the are getting back, sometimes less is more.

I don’t need to lie on here , plenty of of kids get called by coaches and recruited. Just because it doesn’t happen to you doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.

I received a call 2 hours after Ryan’s email. Coaches were just waiting for the news to break to get some of the kids and try to get others to join too.

The TA group text shows where quite a few of the boys are going. It’s Going to be a good year for one team.

Paying is fine for us. I just saved what I would have spent last year So I’m playing with house money
