Once again I don't care about the short lived and ill fated 'discovery' program, they were simply kickarounds for 08 kids, now it's vanished. Also, the MLS DA has been dissolved by US Soccer, MLS sides are trying to figure out what's next for their 1st & 2nd teams with an after thought of what their youth structure might look like in 2021 an beyond (hopefully).

Simply nothing to be 'selected' for as an 08 kid from the local area.
Once a structured & well defined program emerges from the extended pause, they can try and sell it to kids and families that's assuming their Parent club wants to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars on 11 year boys from our zip codes, which is a pure fantasy. Nobody is upset for not getting selected their is no selection or program to be chosen for at this time.

Sorry you don't understand this specific situation, but do realize the reasons your were chosen last as a kid have scarred you into adulthood, I wish you well in your healing process, pain is temporary it's OK to be picked Last.

I should clarify. I didn’t mean to say he made the team because of his brother. They are both amazing players. My son practiced with them at ADF. I’m just making a point that I’m surprised young kids want to share playing and practice time with such large teams.

If this is the kid that played with the 08's friendly against the Boise team- He was head and shoulders better than anyone else on the field. Was a thrill to watch.

All told, my son enjoys the game of soccer; competing, friendship, discipline, trusting others and the emotion of the game. If done well the Timbers program should showcase the kids who are special- enhance their skills and help them get to the next level. Local clubs are great, ADF, timbers associated, OPFC, FCSC, UPDX and even Pachuca (maybe not) all have similar talent mix and are fun to watch.

What teams from the above are the best and why? Rank them?
Who has the best striker, defender, goalie vs the best player overall?

This should be fun. Keep it positive though.

Question, who will the younger U13-15 TA teams play against? The Seattle Crossfire's DA teams are now joining ECNL for 2020-21, and all the top So Cal teams are joining ECNL, plus a new North Cal ECNL conference was just created for those NoCal teams, makes me think there isn't anybody left to play? Will they just play friendlies against the ECNL teams??

Ok, I'll bite, although inconsistency in play abounds at this age. Here's some thoughts to get this thread started.

Goalie - OPFC has a good one. At least he has played well against us

Defender - FCSC has a Centerback who can't be outrun. ADF has a couple of kids who make scoring tough too.

Mids - Eugene has a bruiser or two in the middle. Westside has some strong mids that play great when the team is functioning well. FCSC has a Mid who is great when he is on - when he plays well, their team plays well. Eastside have 2 mids who are dangerous as well - they aren't afraid to take long shots.

Striker - Westside has a very strong winger who can flat out play. WaTimbers have a kid or 2 up front who have cannons. ADF has a kid up front who will run right through you. FCSC has a finisher up front who has a nose for the goal.

I'm certain I'm forgetting some. It's been so long since they've played any games or had trainings.
