As far as the 03 GPS boys, any team from Oregon winning ANY national championship is very rare for Oregon and is impressive within our state. Should no one care or watch the Timbers play because MLS is so far below Euro leagues? No one is arguing that MLS is the best league in the world but it sure is fun and impressive to see see the Timbers do well. You pretend to think no one should bother watching or talking about any Oregon soccer and yet you spend a lot of time on this site berating everyone. I suspect you actually care more than the rest of us and are bitter or jealous for whatever reason. Meanwhile, the rest of us will continue to cheer on our local players and teams and get excited about a team getting a draw vs the best hs team in Oregon! The race to win state just got a whole lot more interesting. If it’s so beneath you, why don’t you move on?

An actual tangible concept and paradigm, so fitting for the Oregon girls soccer mindest.
Reminds me of the movie DodgeBall with matches streamed live on ESPN Ocho or the '8'.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostWhile this is true and even Jesuit wouldn’t be anything special in soccer areas like California, Texas, etc, we live in Oregon and its all we have. Perfectly sensible for us to care and applaud our own girls successes. Similarly, the 5A and below divisions should cheer and be proud of their accomplishments. It’s irrelevant that they are in a much weaker division. Note that the national rankings where Jesuit is tops doesn’t list the CA, Texas, Fl, GA, or almost any big soccer state schools so all things are relative. Regardless, in the ranking that includes Oregon high schools, Jesuit is #1 “in the nation” and that is pretty darn awesome!
Should no one bother to play or watch college soccer except if your girl plays for UNC, Fl State, UCLA or Stanford? Get a grip and realize it’s just high school soccer but we all can enjoy watching and applauding our Oregon girls play high school soccer. Must be sad going through life such a negative Nellie!

NCAA doesn't release RPI until half way though the basketball season.

The coaches poll is a little more real time at the beginning of the year.

In summary; "Yay, a good team didn't win, therefore I have more self esteem than I had at this time yesterday".

Parents should only be there for support not for a personal gratification of their success or sadness from their failure. All these girls have failed and will continue to do so for the rest of their lives and that’s how they learn. I really dislike how Oregon parents have crossed over into this I’m better than you because my dd is better than yours mentality.
