Curious if it bothers anyone besides me to see clubs post deceptive or outright false information on their social media platforms, such as:
Thorns academy claiming a Stanford commit when she isn’t playing soccer in college.
Oregon United posting about a team making state cup finals when the team was actually knocked out in pool play.
FC Portland claiming their ECNL team won a tournament when in reality they lost in finals.
Oregon United posting about a younger team winning an older bracket in a tournament but neglecting to mention it was a bronze bracket.
I know social media directors and DOC’s are tasked with hyping up their clubs. But lies like this are such a bad look for those who notice. Maybe that’s not many people and maybe that’s what the lying liars are counting on. But for those of us paying attention it looks terrible.
