usys & us club let their top clubs join da instead of playing in their associations. it's ok and a source of pride they have their former best clubs leave and play at a higher level. both of them.

Isn't that this the blueprint for improving competition and player development?

With US Soccer has established the DA as the top tier for youth boys and girls and the youth top clubs, MLS & NWSL teams buy in, seems like the only outlier group that hasn't accepted reality is the US Soccer girls league ilk. BTW the DA for boys is in year 12 and girls year 2.

Sorry you didn't the structure or pecking order. It happens.

Saying you're the top tier and being the top tier are two completely different realities. US Soccer GDA is far from top tier in this country and April finally realized that it was a huge mistake. That's why she's running away as quickly as she can. New director will abolish the GDA after this season.

usys & us club leagues do a great job for the lower level clubs, scheduling matches, and hiring refs.

2nd tier needs some love, absolutely, t's quite the value.

We have lots of defacto day care clubs to choose from.

But, only one MLS/NWSL DA that has to choose you, unlike the pay to pay clubs. Who will take you, providing you pay.

The latter is your definition of 'good'?

I am always surprised at how much talent there is in 4H leagues. People would be wise to recruit there. The cost is really low which attracts a lot of families which are on tight budgets.

Luckily you need not worry (about playing DA), it's invitation only.

When someone doesn't get invited to something very exclusive. Human nature kicks in, along with ego and you say things like I wouldn't of gone anyway, it costs too much for the tux or dress. It happens same ole, same ole.

2. Travel teams - Good competition but lower cost due to some local games
3. GDA - Playing time guarantee a benefit for some and some travel costs covered
4. 4H - Very low cost

Sorry to break it to you, US Soccer has designated the ‘National Older’ DA as the top flight for youth. Just like MLS is the top tier for Men & NWSL is for women.

NASL claimed they were just as good as the MLS, guess what they folded soon after.

US Soccer has proven the DA is the top flight for Boys & Girls, just ask them.


It’s OK not to be the recognized and established top flight for youth soccer, USYS & US Club are happy to occupy their space for the kids.
