Here is the post that was analyzed and debunked:

Schools from lower income areas should not have to plays against schools in more affluent areas. Oregon City should consider boycotting Lake Owesgo, Lakeridge, and Westlinn.

Clack/H.V was never part of the discussion.

If you’re trying to say Clack shouldn’t have to play against less affluent schools in the Mt. Hood Conference that actually fits the false narrative provided above with relevant data points.

Maybe they should of figured this out before they offered it up.
I keep up just fine Tommy Boy. The article offered, referred to the 10 richest cities in Oregon. OC was pounding its chest that it finally made a list and was throwing shade at its MT Hood Conference relatives. I simply pointed out that OC is the red headed step child in every way to CHS and that Happy Valley where 90% of Clack kids live was ahead of OC on this list. Now carry on with your incredible points.

I don't care either way but you might want to pop over and read the committee minutes on the OSAA website. There was discussion on a resolution to allow all public high schools to recruit and have unlimited transfers for sports. Lots of discussion of the rich schools like Jesuit that recruit in those meetings.

So rather than move Jesuit they discussed allowing everyone to fight over recruits like colleges do.

Look at West Linn HS football.

How about Wilsonville HS football? The star quarterback from last year lives in Beaverton.

Take a look at PIL schools.

And finally take a look at Beaverton HS women's basketball. At least 4 of the starters live in another school district.

That makes a lot more sense than kicking out a school because boo hoo you can’t beat them. If HS’s want to compete, they will also pay for better coaches. Most of these HS coaches are awful.

Maybe for HS football where most of the recruiting is at the HS level, do you really think families are really spending $15K per year so their daughters can play HS soccer at Jesuit?

I don’t but it seems there are a lot of fools who think that way.

Not sure Jesuit is even that good in football anymore. Seems like big public schools are the football powers now. I think girls soccer is Jesuits claim to fame at the moment.

The first one is based on how many scholarships are given to the football players.

They have to match it on the girl's side which is why the boy's program is not quite as good as the girl's program.

If you play sports at Jesuit, you automatically get 25% off of tuition. If the team wins Metro then it is an additional 10%. If they win state then it is 75% for everyone. There are other incentives such as All Metro or All State that would make it essentially free to go to Jesuit. The key is to win state though because that 75% nut is a big one.
This can't be true can it?

My daughter's tuition was basically free last year due to the team's state championships results.

Some of the families donated the scholarship back into the general pool because they didn't need it. It helps out some of our other sports programs.

I know five on varsity who are. None are Catholic, either.

Why not? It's only 50% more than ECNL, and you get a private-school education to boot.

You really can't put a price on being educating by loving priests.

Sorry, this wasn't intended to be a Jesuit thread but I just heard that their boys' soccer coach was quietly fired. Is that true? Anyone know why?
