It's not a bad option if that is all you have.

The most intriguing thing is the playing time guarantee. If your kid struggles to get starts at their local club team this might be an attractive option to look at.
I think it's $300 per showcase and Im guessing it's four? Maybe less?

Kids like playing HS soccer. For all of you who say it is just "screwing around", kids like it. But, of course, what does it matter whether the kids like it or not?

HS Soccer is classified as recreatuonal.

Recreational Soccer is loved by all.

            Hello

              Hello
Uh, okay. I don't think Rec soccer and HS are the same thing, but whatever. I'm also not saying HS soccer is the equivalent of top club leagues. But I do think that if kids want to play both, that's great and should be encouraged. They are not mutually exclusive.

My daughter is generally considered one of the better players at her age level and has played on a very successful club team. She goes to high school soccer and talks about how bad some of soccer is. However, she has a great time and has some very deep friendships from high school sports. They have a lot of fun. She loves it.

Nearly 70%+ of all HS particpants are simply rec players.
No HS aged club involvent at a premier level

All JV and JV2 squad members are rec.

Nearly all 5A squads and below schools are rec players.

Some competitive club players do mix in for sure but they are a small minority and growinig smaller when the top slice is the DA and dont. play Hs.

With 2/3 of all HS paticpants being jv or jv 2 70% rec is very accurate.

Having to watch jv or jv 2 is rough especially on the girls side.

                        You make a valid point.

It's the parents and MBA suits that try to prevent kids from playing high school.

Not OP, I did a little digging and as shocking as it appears it's supported by data.
NFHS participation numbers indicate 6500 boys play HS Soccer in Oregon.
OYSA fields close to 100 boys teams from u16 to u19 in it's 2018 Winter League U15 is a mishmash of 8th & 9th Graders. So roughly 1800 to 2000 boys plays 'competitive' club HS aged soccer. (u15-19)

Which supports the percentage o of 'rec' players actually playing HS around 70%+ or you could also classify them as those that don't play competitive soccer, instead of rec.

The percentage of HS 'rec' girls players is probably higher due to lower interest level and participation numbers than boys.

Our DA teams don't want to be infested by high school non-value added activities. Return on investment for HS is negative. The strategic plan for DA cuts HS out for good reasons and keeps the players and business of soccer healthy for our selected members. Kids in DA are voluntarily required to follow these protocols and they love the freedom of not having to follow the market laggards. 'MBA suits' have nothing to do with it.

Soccer should not be for fun!! Get onto the training field and work hard. Forget friends or fans coming to your game. That’s nonsense. You mean guy wind up an alcoholic or do drugs like many before but at least you won’t have fun playing high school.
