We do kids in Oregon a disservice by not properly training them, signing off on all their ski trips, telling them they're "elite", taking them to tournaments they have no business attending, and then saying "oh it was a great experience."
Being this mickey mouse is a choice.

Going to a tournament and losing by 3-4 goals a game, you can learn something from.
Losing by 14--kids learn nothing from that sort of humiliation.
The kids at Crossfire's DA--have done nothing wrong. Nothing in this comment should be interpreted as derogatory to any of them. It appears they were put in a bad situation.
But the DoC--and the parents--ought to have a little chat with the coach when he gets back, as to why the club's and the parent's money was squandered on such a travesty. And the coach probably ought to apologize to the families who spent a lot of time and money to compete in a tournament in which they are way over their head. NONE of the local boys teams has any business doing super black (or academy black) at Surf. The girls at CU, have done well. But Crossfire's boys have been done a grave disservice it appears.
Hope the 05s do better; their game starts in about 20 minutes.

Gotta marvel at the cluelessness it takes to be the 4th best 05 boys team in OR and think, "Yeah, let's take a crack at the top tier of Surf cup."

Even WPFC, a team that is capable of competing with the top California DAs, lost their first game, albeit by only 1-0.

Now I know your son plays for Timbers da and you really want to doubt it that team as being the best team in Oregon, but we both know it is not. Even with the addition of a couple of your son's old teammates from FC Portland your team is still weak. and I seem to remember that team getting trounced by Seattle teams love to see them play a team like FC Strikers here into the score would be the same if not worse. Remember the da showcase last November? Your team and every other team from or Oregon was embarrassed. Crossfire however was not. Which is why they were invited to Surf cup and your team was not.
LET'S GO PORTLAND timbers!
