So, it appears no OYSA (Oregon or SW Washington) teams will make it to nationals. FCP 00B got to the semis, but no further. Most of the finalists are from NV, CA-S, and AZ on the boys side, with CO and UT well-represented on the girls side. Two Seattle teams (one boys, one girls) are in the regional finals.
The interesting demographic compare for Oregon is probably Utah. Both states have similar populations (3M for the Beehive State, 4M for Oregon). Both states have one major dominant metro. And both states have similar Latino populations (about 700k). Both states have a top-level NBA team, an MLS team, but that's it for pro sports. But Utah seems to have better youth soccer overall. Certainly Real Salt Lake has one of the top development academies, and the Timbers have been lagging in this regard.
