What is the clear conflict of interest? Nobody cares if you don't agree with their pyramid, you seem to forgot they have total control of everything related to youth soccer in Oregon. You are a member citizen of a dictatorship. that is ruled by one person (a dictator) , and exercised through various mechanisms to ensure that the entity's power remains strong.

You can always move to another state or country.

ODP parent here and can confirm this is true. Lots of outrage among parents. DOC's will be getting calls in the morning if not sooner.

So what coach is doing this recruiting and are younupset becsuse your daughtercwas not recruited? Welcome to tier one soccer. Look at boys DA. Less than 20% of players after u15 are discovered in an open tryout. This will be same for girls.

Guess they are calling 04s who didn't get a spot and offering for the 03s. Think it is a shame but we politely declined as we already committed to a club.

Funny you say that. We were told that since we were the last girl cut from the 04s that we were first in line for an 03 spot. We are considering but need to talk with our DOC first.

Such an ignorant response. The Timbers should not be running leagues or ODP. In fact it is a violation of OYSA bylaws for them to be doing so since their teams compete in the same leagues they run.

The unethical and secretive contract the Timbers have affects every youth soccer player in Oregon. The take your ball home if you don't like it stupidity is just that.

Remember ODP is not the OYSA ODP anymore. It's the Timbers/Thorns ODP vertical pyramid and they call the shots. BTW, the girls DA is 5x cheaper than the CU & FC P travel program platform.

Lots of kids turned down spots so many players are 2nd choice but you need bodies in those roster spots.

It's real simple since quality and competition don't exist in this market.

1) Timbers/Thorns pay your way

or

2) or the parent must pay thousands and thousands at a rec club dreaming of being something special only to find out this 'dream' becomes a financial nightmare.

This is like an MLS coach complaining that a scout from Real Madrid is checking out his players. It's one thing when one local pay-to-play club tries to steal players from another, but THIS IS A STEP UP THE F---ING PYRAMID. Only a selfish ass of a club coach would try to keep his players out of GDA.

Certain clubs like the to think they are, or should be, equivalent to the Timbers. They're not.

This is true. There are very few clubs that are as horrible as the Timbers. Some are though, like Eastside.
